"I was highly impressed with the quality of work and the professionalism.  Even though my garage door system is 23 years old, they did not pressure me to replace the whole system, as another garage door company had done before.  I thought I got great value for my money.  I will definitely use them for any maintenance/repair work in the future, and when it is time to replace the garage door system, Southern Garage Doors will get my business.

They are the ones who came out and fixed and then I had to pay them extra actually. The $99 deal got them through the door. I owed them $300 or $400 for the fix. But they were very good. I called them the next day and they came right out. It was expensive. It was a mess, my ceiling. I didn't even know if they could fix it. Well, they got the light in, which the other guy said wouldn't work. These guys came out, and besides the plumbing they do other things, like ceilings and plaster and they fixed it up.

"Ferguson Home Improvements was very professional and on time when they did our tile work.  The technicians were very respectful and instructed us of everything they were going to do in there step by step process and made sure we approved everything before the began the work.  After the work was completed on-time and within budget they explained to us how to care for our new floor and made sure that our house was left they way it was when the arrived.  We received a call about a week later from the owner of Ferguson Home Improvements to make sure we were satisfied with the work.  All and all it was a great experience and we will use them in the future.

"I had Anthony come install attic access steps into my garage. He was polite and his work was fantastic! He arrived on time and quoted me a very fair price. I will definitely hire him again for more work!"

Doors questions, answered by experts

Fire doors are constructed to have certain resistance levels regarding fire. A traditional door can typically resist fire for less than one minute, whereas fire doors can resist it for 30 to 120 minutes, depending on the fire door rating. Fire doors give you and your family a better chance of safely escaping during a fire than standard doors.

The average fiberglass door that you purchase from your local door company or home improvement store will last around 20 to 40 years, so fiberglass doors are considered durable compared to other door materials. When properly maintained, it's not unheard of for a fiberglass door to last up to 80 years.

Yes, but adding a deadbolt to some door materials, like steel, may make installation a little bit trickier. For these materials, you will want to hire a locksmith to do the work for you, but be aware that they may charge an additional fee of $25 to $50 or more.

Yes, you can clean door hinges with vinegar. The cleaner your door hinges are, the less likely they are to cause that annoying squeaking sound. Simply fill a container with equal parts water and vinegar, dip a microfiber cloth in the mixture, and use it to clean the hinges. You can do this while the hinges are connected or remove them, and wash them piece by piece.

You can determine what size storm door you need by measuring for the storm door. Take the width at the top, middle, and bottom of either your front door or an existing storm door, then measure the height on the left, center, and right of the door. Buy a storm door that matches your measurements' smallest width and shortest height.
