They were excellent! They had very responsive customer service, the price was very fair, and the gentlemen who came in were very nice, very experienced, and worked very hard.

American Moving was very responsive and professional. They showed up on time the day of the scheduled day and carefully moved my furniture and belongs. The workers were very cordial and very understanding of the uncertainty on my part where the pieces of furniture would fit. They placed furniture and boxes where we asked. The experience from the time I contacted them until my household was relocated was excellent.

The owner is very personable and willing to work with you. They are quite reasonable as far as price goes as welI. Nothing was broken in my move I was satisfied with my experience with them.

Called and schedueld two weeks in advance, they showed up professionally equipped, moved everything quickly and carefully. The truck was full to the ceiling. We had a lot of stuff. They could have squeezed it for two trips if they really wanted to but they made it one trip which shows honesty as two trips would have costed me extra $300 due to the distance. I highly recommend them

Mike has helped me move 3 times so far, and every time, the service is excellent. Their movers come right on time, if anything early, and get to work as quickly as possible. They've never broken anything (which is impressive given how many fragile hand blown glasses I have), they are fast and professional, and I've never seen furniture so well wrapped by any other company before. His prices are reasonable with the area, and as a realtor, I also recommend him to all my clients. I've worked with numerous other companies in the past, but Mike delivers every time, on time, and within budget. My 1 bedroom move typically takes them 3-4 hours to complete, and I have a full apartment of furniture and about 30-40 boxes on average.

I contacted American Moving based on the reviews here on Angies List; they were one of three companies I contacted. Mike came out to the house to look things over and talk through the details of my move requirements; most of the bids were all virtual, this personal touch did make a difference. The price he quoted ended up being right in the middle of the other bids and I went with them. Moving day was scheduled on a day that was calling for TERRIBLE weather and Mike was able to accommodate my request to move the date up by a day which was perfect. The movers were super punctual, super professional and so helpful as some of the "where to put things" decisions were not all worked out. They were patient and also so pleasant to work with. It took 10 hours for the entire move and it went flawlessly in my opinion. I would use American Moving & Storage again and would highly recommend them.

Mike was very generous and accomodating to our needs and made our move pleasant from beginning to end. We have very heavy furniture and all hard wood flooring at new home so was very apprehensive as we did not have good experience with previous movers damaging furniture and not taking responsibility for it. We are amazed how well the packing and transport process was. The crew was so hard working and good bedside manners. I would definitely use them again and will recommend them to other. Prior to the move I worked with Mike Eybers. He promised to deliver used boxes for free, and newsprint & tape at a specified cost; and he delivered the boxes on time as promised. On the day of the move the truck and movers arrived exactly on time at 8:30 AM. Because of all my stuff Mike recommended 4 men. They were all terrific! They worked hard all day and only took a short break for lunch before heading to my new place. They were all professional and knew how to handle large furniture without damaging it. I was very impressed and thankful. They even took all my plants and last minute items I did not get packed. I would absolutely use them again and highly recommend them.

Everything was mostly packed and on the first level for them, so they didn't need to do any packing (or unpacking at the new house) and I helped them out with loading and unloading the truck to keep the labor costs down and get everything done in a timely manner. The main guy on the crew knew exactly how to pack everything, was fast and efficient, while the two young kids he had with him were awesome as well. The day of the load went very well without a hitch, but the next day they were going to arrive at 3 pm, but the job they did in the morning ended up being bigger, which was fine, but I had to call multiple times and ask where they were and I was getting times all over the place from them. They finally arrived 3 1/2 hours late, and helped them unload to get it done fast since it was getting dark out... Again, the crew was amazing and efficient, but I wish the company would have had better comms with me and my wife so we weren't sitting in an empty house all day.

Moving crew arrived on time, were very careful in packing my belongings and took great care in protecting walls and floors from damage. My good were moved to temporary storage for delivery in September.

Absolutely wonderful! Very careful and efficient. Can't recommend them highly enough! Some workers seemed reluctant to speak English but leader did and was no problem at all. Was amazed that they carried most items on their backs.

HIGHLY RECOMMMENDED. All team members were compassionate and sensitive to the needs of our elderly parents, which made a very stressful situation less stressful! From the owner who personally came to assess the scope of work and provide an initial price quote within 48 hours of initial contact, to the team of movers who assisted with packing, moving and delivery (all whilst keeping clear lines of communication with us AND showing up 10 minutes prior to the assigned “start time”), to the office staff who provided a concise recap of the move with a detailed invoice, the service was EXCELLENT. All team members were professional and courteous. All items arrived to the new location, exactly as they left the old location. Furniture was set up and assembled exactly as requested. All trash was removed post-delivery.

The movers were on time. They were very professional. They took great care to protect the furniture and wrapped each picture individually. They helped us organize the pieces based on drop off location, as they were being split into 3 different drops. All items arrived safely without damage. They were very helpful in placing the furniture where we wanted it to go and were very tolerant of our repeated requests to change the location. We were very satisfied with their work.

They were fantastic.  Careful, conscientious, clean, accomodated our schedule.  Price was very reasonable.

Moved from Northern VA to the DE coast.  I was looking for a small, preferably local, mover rather than a giant firm for many reasons, including bundling our stuff with other households, different teams working on my stuff, bureaucratic red tape, etc..  I looked on Angie's List and interviewed and got quotes from 4 highly-rated movers that met my general criteria.  Mike Eybers came out and did our estimate.  Having the owner do this was impressive. Mike put together a bid, with a cap, that was very competitive.  The final price was under the estimate and under the cap.  The communications before during and after the move were excellent.  Mike himself followed up a few days after the move to make sure everything went well.  
The packers and movers showed up on time, worked hard, and got the job done right. They were very pleasant to work with and accommodated our specific instructions. I gave them a good tip to show my appreciation and get themselves some dinner after a hard days work. With about half our boxes unpacked so far, including all our kitchen dishes, we have found no broken items.
I highly recommend American Movers and would use them again (although I have NO desire to move any time soon).

The men were great: prompt, prepared and efficient.  We had hoped to get the move done in two hours and they made that possible. They wrapped all the furniture in protective plastic wrap and nothing was damaged in the move.  The logistics of the move required dispersing the furniture etc. at two locations.  The first load went to my new residence and they quickly deposited the furniture in the appropriate places with little effort.  The rest went to a storage unit and that went smoothly as well: they contributed intelligently as to how to best stack the boxes and make the best use of the space.  We were especially pleased that the move only took two hours per the initial agreement with the moving company.  We would definitely use them again in the future.

It was very labor intensive but despite some wiffly waffly decision making on our part during the midpoint stop (which caused the day to go long) they kept up the great attitude and pace.  The day was extremely and they did their very best to fit everything into the too small of a storage unit I rented.  Towards the end of the unloading I was able to get an additional air conditioned unit to put my leather chairs in which really helped.  I'm pretty sure they would have fit it all in if needed.  Makes me sad that I have so much cr@p.

I was referred to American Moving & Storage, Inc by another moving company because they had no room for me on their schedule on such short notice. Making the appointment was easy and I was glad to be able to get a day and time set up almost immediately! I wasn't expecting them until between 9-10 today (Saturday 6 June 2015)  but, they were early!  Coming from Sterling to Fredericksburg, I'm not even sure how that's possible. They arrived around 8:35 and immediately began carefully wrapping and moving my belongings onto the truck. They were well equipped and clearly knew what they were doing. They were quick and efficient.  I have a 1250sq ft home so there wasn't much to move in the first place but, within 1.5 hours, everything was packed onto the truck and we were on our way to the storage unit 4 miles away. The truck was unloaded and the storage unit was filled in less than an hour! I was thoroughly impressed! I HATE moving and everything associated with it but Oscar, Alex, and Luis made the process very smooth and stress-free. I would enthusiastically recommend American Moving & Storage, Inc to anyone looking for professional, punctual, efficient movers. I will be contacting them again in two weeks or so, to move me out of the storage and into my new home!
