"I said this before, but I'll say it again. Mixing Bowl is our "first call" for an all-purpose contractor. This was our second experience with Mixing Bowl. We had new shower valves and controls installed. Joel is a master plumber--he installed all new shower hardware and repaired a pin-hole leak in less than 4 hours. Superior workmanship, consummate professionalism and unmatched customer service."

"We bought and paid for a tree, and found out they sold it to someone else when we called to schedule delivery!-- We purchased a tree for a special occasion and paid for the tree and delivery up front. However, when we called to schedule delivery and planting, we were informed that Merrified had put our tree back out on the lot and sold it to someone else! Yes, we paid up front, saw them tag the tree with our name, were told they would hold it for us and take good care of it, and had talked to the staff in detail about the delivery timeframe which was even written on the receipt and circled. This was particularly disappointing because we had spent hours looking through the trees and had finally found the one that we wanted. Merrifield took our hand-selected tree that we had already purchased, and then sold it again to someone else without even the courtesy of a phone call or contacting us. During this ordeal, we had a glimmer of hope when they said they had found “our tree”! But this was soon to be squashed as they had just picked another tree and stuck our name on it. No, Merrified: Each tree is unique and has its own character, and you can’t sell the same tree to multiple people and then just replace them with another tree that happens to still be on the lot. We picked Merrifield because we thought we would get a great product and professional service. Unfortunately, Merrifield does have the premium prices, but is severely lacking when it comes to customer service. We won’t be returning to Merrifield after this unnecessary and extremely disappointing experience."

"We had Ryan's landscaping come and clean out gutters and trim three holly trees. They did a good job on the holly trimming but absolutely made a mess of our gutters. Not only did they blow all the gunk out of the gutter and onto my deck and all over my patio furniture (that took us over an hour to power wash off ourselves!) my gutters are staying full of water now - this was not the case before they came out. So we sent an email asking him to come back and check that the downspout wasn't clogged and mentioned the mess his workers left that we already cleaned and he couldn't be bothered. I specifically asked to have someone from the office call me and apparently that's not the type of service they give. Below is the email response I received and I am APPALLED at the fact that an owner of a company wrote this when all we were looking for was for him to come double check his work and make sure that they didn't blow everything into the downspout. I'm sorry to hear about basement and gutters, but i am not at fault.. Sounds like you need bigger gutters (6" to handle the heavy down pours).. Because of your attitude towards my company, which i don't appreciate, we will not be coming back to fix something we did not break.. How am I to believe this has never happened before.. Sounds like your trying to get something for free and thats not happening.. Ryan's Landscaping Now I'm not sure why he thinks we are asking for something for free! All we wanted was for him to come check the work we already paid for. Not once did I mention anything other than that. What a stellar owner who talks to his customers like that after he's cashed our check for $500. I went up on a ladder since Ryan clearly wasn't going to back his work and it turns out the downspout was clogged and never cleaned. Go find anyone else because no one deserves to be talked to like that."
