"It is with deep satisfaction that I recommend Grady?s Painting and Plastering & Construction. Mr. George Grady is a skilled craftsman. He was hired to correct long neglected and extensive masonry and window issues on a large, beautiful Presbyterian Church built in the Civil War era in Philadelphia. The property was neglected with only minimal maintenance performed over the last 40+ years. The building was in severe decline and in need of stabilization and restoration on many fronts. Cracked ledge plates were chipped out and reestablished, internal walls damaged by leakage were broken out and repaired, brickwork was repointed and in severe cases reestablished to original strength and beauty. Leaks around the base of the building were addressed to stabilize deterioration of the foundation. Large rotted window sills under beautiful stained glass windows were restored after significant masonry reestablishment due to water damage under the rotted out sills. Broken and missing stained glass windows are in the process of repair and replacement. The process started with new metal frames cast by Mr. Grady. The new frames will hold clear painted replications of the original stained glass, also crafted by Mr. Grady. Regular windows all around the church and manse were also repaired and restored. Roof leaks were accurately identified and repaired. A sagging plaster ceiling has been torn out and restored. All this work was done by Mr. Grady alone or with an occasional helper. He worked with care, expertise and respect for the original structure. The results far exceeded our expectations and have injected new life into a building on the brink. This building, owned by the Presbytery of Philadelphia, now houses a new urban ministry in a newly gentrifying area of the city. "I would like to apprise Angie's List subscribers of my excellent experience with TLG Tile of Woodbridge VA.  The firm gutted and rebuilt the master bath in our 35-year old house in April 2012.  I did extensive design, product, contractor research before I began my search.  I visited four contractors in Northern Virginia with a very detailed spec list and had each visit and appraise our current bath situation.  From each I requested the same specific breakout of prices for labor and similar materials.  The prices for three contractors ran from $14,500 to $27,000--and the highest continually threw up roadblocks as to how difficult moving pipes and wires was and how much extra small things would cost. What a downer! Todd Gilbert not only had the most complete showroom, but his price--$12,500--gave the most bang for the buck. He has done over 3000 bathrooms.  That price included taking half a closet from an adjoining bedroom to enlarge the shower, installing and venting a fan in a second full bath, repair of an unrelated J-trap in a half bath, and extensive wallboard repair of a dining room ceiling and a 24-foot living room wall that the previous owner had botched when he swapped out sliding doors for windows.  His Angies List credentials were impeccable, and his team lived up to them.  For an additional $400, his painters did the ceilings of every room on our first floor. (I could have done them, but what a pain in the neck...literally). One rarely notices ceilings, but they really freshened up every room.  We had a kitchen sink fitting burst on the second day--totally unrelated to the bath construction--and Todd called back his plumber from a job in D.C. to make the emergency repair for a nominal fee.  He brought all tile, fixture, and cabinetry samples we had chosen to our house, including possible alternate floor and shower tiles.  Good that he did: after laying them in the room, we swapped out the nearly black floor tile for a lighter grey that looks terrific.
Todd promised no more than a seven-day job and, but for a cabinet contractor that sent the wrong width base pieces to accommodate the custom granite top, he would have made it.  His crew arrived every day at 8, consulted with me when I got home from work about 5, and cleaned up the site every evening.  I am really picky about home repair, so I can say with confidence that their skill levels were top-notch.  The Moen fixtures were a definite quality step up from the Lowes and Home Depot fixtures by the same manufacturer: all brass/no plastic.
We only had one glitch: the under-mount porcelain sink bowl developed an egg-shaped crack below the overflow hole after seven months.  It was a manufacturing defect. TLG ordered a new one on the spot and installed it.  Otherwise, the bath has been glitch free.  Todd or his deputy communicated with me nearly every day. I have recommended him to several friends.  Todd is now doing a three-bath job for one. I see this friend every day: so far, so good, he reports. 
In 30 years of using contractors for various jobs, none come near to measuring up to TLG Tile.  We will have TLG back soon to tile our (now wooden) kitchen floor and install backsplashes.  This outfit is first class, their staff are consummate professionals, and their prices cannot be beat in Northern Virginia."

They arrived quickly after the pipe was fixed by our plumber, demoed, and dried out the areas, even handled packing out our furniture and placing carefully in a pod storage while the work was being done. They did mold testing and made sure everything was safe, the best part was that they dealt with the insurance and we didn’t have to do anything."

The overall work was good but could not give 5 stars due to minor details (slight exposed hole in ceiling, flex duct used instead of solid construction, a leftover loose tile). Important to consider Anthony's price came in lower than others so the install was a bargain. Would recommend if you don't mind little details and want a job done quickly and affordably."

"They have a good project team. However; the Sunshine salesman misled on ( 1 ) their team can keep the trim molding details when applying capping on my colonial house. This led me accepting their price, which is 35% more than other company offered using the same material. The project team tried their best but the molding details are still lost after capping. (2) their team will replace the old soffit with their new kind, which will provide better ventilation to the roof. However; they only cut the venting area off on the old then covered it with the new pieces. Not sure if the ventilation would be better or worse since the old and the new are stacked together. The salesman made multiple mistakes when updating the contracts - incorrect pricing breakdown and/or total price, sent wrong/old copies to customer, forgot to make updates here or there; just to name a few."
