Todd and his team remodeled 2 full bathrooms for my wife and I. Beat timeline by 1 week, came in as well priced as anybody, and a truly professional team from pricing to design to finish. Highly recommended. - Norris Fam

The new master bathroom is fantastic. All aspects of the job were carried out in a highly professional manner. There was not a problem, no matter how small, that Todd Gilbert and his crew did not immediately. The entire job resulted in a beautiful master bathroom that is a joy to use and will greatly increase the value of our property. Thank you Todd Gilbert.

I interviewed a number of local contractors, all with high Angie?s List ratings, for a master bath remodel project. I?m planning to put the house on the market shortly afterward so was not looking for a gold-plated, Trump Taj Mahal redesign, but a quality job using classic design elements that would not alienate potential buyers. Todd and his crew from TLG Tile delivered a stunning finished product and I could not be happier. For about $2000 more than a quote from another contractor that was going to produce an ?I picked all this stuff up at Home Depot? style bathroom I got a custom master bath that, quite literally, makes me wonder every day if I really want to sell the house.
Every member of the crew TLG brought in to the do the work was a consummate professional did a fantastic job, from the painters and tile guys to the electrician and plumbers. They completely gutted the bathroom (approx. 12? x 6?) on a Monday and were finished by Friday afternoon. Any little hiccups along the way, and in any project there will be a few, were dealt with quickly and professionally and never impacted the schedule in a significant way.
I would recommend TLG Tile to any List member without hesitation and plan on using them in the future any time I need kitchen, bath or tile work done.

I had interviewed 3-4 contractors, had liked Todd the most right away and was pleased when his estimate was the lowest.
He was helpful in deciding how to do the remodel, and his team's work was excellent.  I have and will continue to recommend him for small or large projects.

Wow! I am very particular and I was very pleased with the overall process. Todd and his crew were very professional, pleasant and hard working. There were some hiccups on the way but they handled each one well. The end product is gorgeous. Top notch craftsmanship. We plan to have them remodel our other bbathroom.

Started work on the hall bath first, leaving us the Master bath for use.  The work took about 3 days except for minor touch ups.  Tore out floor tile, replace floor boards, laid new floor tile, repaired hole in wall after removing old medicine cabinet, installed new one over sink, new vanity, with larger sink, new toilet and beautiful new floor tile.  Painted and looks wonderful.  Next was the Master bath.  Except for jetted tub, was a complete gut job to included half a wall in the shower. The workmen were respectful on my home laying drop cloths everywhere, were on time each time day and were a pleasure to have in my home.
The finished results are better than I could envision.  Other waiting for custom glass shower wall and door to be made and installed, I have an absolutely beautiful bath.  I would highly recommend them for any job.

Living in a condo we had to work around a building water shut off and TLG was able to work within the constraints of my building.  TLG tore out old tile and wall board and the tile floor.  Got the tub out and started to rebuild.  The work was exactly as planned.  Each day when the crew ended work, they made every effort to tidy up (cutting tile and wall board is dusty) and were always polite and professional.  TLG tile was super.

TLG removed all wall tile and installed new floor tile and ceiling high wall tile around the tub/shower areas.  They added additional ceiling light fixtures to both bathrooms  and a new exhaust fan in one.  The formerly tiled wall areas were refinished and primed and the sinks, toilets and other fixtures re-installed. All work was done promptly, the workers were pleasant, efficient and left the site cleaned up each day. When a problem arose with fitting baseboard heating covers back on with the higher new tile floors, TLG arranged to redo the plumbing for the hot water heating to fix the problem.  All work was completed for the initially agreed upon price.  Both bathrooms now look great and function well.

As someone who?s been in the Facility Management career field for more than 30 years, I am extremely picky when it comes to quality of construction; I expect the best and will not accept any less.  When it comes to my expectations at home; I am equally demanding and expect the best quality for a reasonable price!

The process started with meeting and working with Antonia in the showroom.  This young woman was very knowledgeable and instrumental in helping my wife and I select the tile and design we wanted.  After a few questions, she clearly understood what we were looking for and made the process much easier.  The last thing she did was make arrangements to have Todd come to our home so that he could measure the project area and generate a cost estimate.  I?ve dealt with many contractors in my professional and personal lives, but very few at the caliber of this gentleman.  He arrived promptly and within a reasonable amount of time, he generated an accurate cost estimate which included an estimated start date and duration.

The TLG construction crews were outstanding!  They arrived promptly, were extremely professional and showed a high concern for cleanliness and care for my home.  The discipline specific crews worked together like a fine oiled machine.  Once each crew with their work, the next was ready to jump in and continue the work.  The schedule Todd provided at the very beginning was followed precisely.

This almost never happens; but the quality of the construction exceeded my expectations.  I inspected this project as I do at work, and the quality of construction was outstanding.  I?m a stickler when it comes to ?fine points? and TLG surpassed my expectations.

I am so pleased with the service and quality of construction received from TLG that I?ve decided to replace the tile the other 3 bathrooms in my home.  This is a quality company from the top down.  If you?re looking for high quality construction at a reasonable price; TLG is the company to go with.

Before deciding on TLG we visited with three other renovators; we decided on them because of their personal attention, straight forward talk, experience (they have completed in excess of 5000 bathrooms), and how well we were treated at our store front visit to discuss and pick out the design with their consultants - they made it all so easy.  We wanted them to squeeze us in before Thanksgiving and they accommodated us as well as guaranteeing a 5 business day window of completion, which again they made.
TLG started on day 1 by taking down the entire bathroom to the studs; it was quite impressive how quickly and efficiently they completed the demolition. After that the plumbing modifications as well as any necessary electrical work was done then the dry wall to complete the day. Day 2 and 3 saw the installation of the tub and tile; we opted for a natural earth tone tile along the floor and shower wall which came out beautifully. Day 4 was the installation of the vanity, the shower door, fixtures, and the start of the painting - we opted for a marble vanity top and a clear semi-frameless door which again came out great. Day 5 saw the completion of the painting and the walk through with the owner Todd for the sign off on the labor.
I would recommend TLG to anyone looking for a great small business that is extremely attentive to their customers needs. I found their prices to be in line generally with what the market bears. The owner, Todd, stopped by every day to check on progress and to ask how we felt about the work and if we needed to correct anything - along the way we did ask for things to get done better or have a slight adjustment and Todd made sure those things happened prior to completion. I did wait several weeks before writing this review to make sure the bathroom didn't have any electrical/plumbing flaws and it has been 100% thus far.

My husband and I are extremely grateful for the spectacular craftsmanship, professionalism and customer service that were rendered by TLG Tile. The process of totally transforming our master bathroom from a disaster area/eyesore into a modern, custom designed bathroom of exquisite beauty and comfort was accomplished with ease under the guidance of Todd and his team of professionals. We are pleased with all aspects of the work to include the beautiful tile and granite, heated floor, paint job, gorgeous cabinets and our enlarged shower enclosed with beautiful glass. The master bath has easily become one of our favorite rooms in the house and we find ourselves lingering there much longer than necessary due to the lovely and relaxing environment.

TLG Tile's attention to detail, precision and responsiveness are exceptional. The prices are far below other companies and the results are spectacular. I highly recommend TLG Tile to anyone who needs to remodel a bathroom.

New bathrooms came out beautiful. However we had several minor issues in the master bath that have kept occuring over the 2 year warranty period (hich we have in writing). Each time we tried to contact Todd to schedule the repairs, it took months to get in touch with him, and even longer to schedule the work. Since June, 7 months before our warranty expired, we have tried to contact Todd and his company a million times. Finally in October he called back and stated he wasn't doing residential work anymore and our warranty was over. Eventually he agreed to put us on his list (45 houses long) for warranty repairs but this was the last time and by Dec 31 he's done no matter what our warranty said. We'll it's almost 12/31 and as usual we can't get in touch with him. We are so frustrated that the same issues keep breaking, that he's completely non-responsive after the sale, and that he treats customers who spend a fortune with him like they don't exist when they dare to ask him to honor his warranty.
Response from TLG Tile Inc
"I want to apologize as I did in our conversation yesterday. We have been calling you back to schedule your service call. I should have been more proactive in my follow up but have been dealing with a few deaths in the family over the past few months and Im helping a parent with some health issues right now. That has taken a lot of time and I was relying on my son to follow up and schedule with you all. I did ask him weekly if he had reached you and he said he had left a message. When I checked the phone numbers and called myself yesterday I realized the main contact number we had had one digit wrong and we were leaving a message for you with someone else and somehow the 2nd number he was dialing the wrong area code. I should have caught that much sooner. We will see you Tuesday morning to get everything taken care of for you."

TLG, a family-owned company headed by Todd Gilbert, recently
completed our sixty-four year-old bathroom demolition and renovation. After
getting several estimates, we chose TLG from Angie?s List. TLG gave the most reasonable
estimate. They were familiar with and had no hesitation installing some of the
less typical items I had chosen. Instead of the 2 - 3 weeks the other
contractors had estimated, TLG said it would take 6 ? 7 days.
Once we had an agreement, Todd went over the project in
detail and agreed to order all the fixtures I had chosen (from showrooms, the internet,
and magazines). His company uses its own workmen, electrician, plumber, tile man,
etc.  Every workman was carefully
scheduled. They arrived on time each day and worked full days. They finished on
day 7 at noon, right within the estimated time.
The demolition work was done carefully and cleanly. All
debris was removed from our property, and pipes, framing and the foundation was
prepared for tiles on all four walls. Dedicated electrical lines were run to
the bathroom. Finally the tiles and fixtures were installed and connected.
Todd and his workmen were professional throughout, answering
every question I had. The bathroom turned out beautifully and stayed within the
estimated cost. The results exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend TLG

It took 4 days for completion which entailed gutting the whole bath replacing the sub floor which was rotted out due to a major leak, flooring replaced with ceramic tile. Replaced tub/shower insert with ceramic tile w/beautiful glass tile inlay. A pocket door was installed, a new vanity w/granite top, new lights , mirror and fan. Todd (the owner) was extremely professional. His son's also work with him and were just as professional and really nice to work with. We will be using them again for a Kitchen remodel in the future.
And oh yes, his wife works in the showroom and she was awesome too!!

TLG Tile remodeled two bathrooms for us and did a truly excellent job in all aspects.  The owner, Todd, responded quickly to our request for an estimate, stopped by our house and walked us through a variety of options and considerations.  Within two days he provided us a cost estimate for each bathroom.  After agreeing to his service, we went to his showroom and worked with his wife to pick out floor and wall tile, shower/tub doors, bathroom cabinet style and colors, a tub, toilet-topper cabinets, a medicine cabinet, towel racks, shower and tub safety handles, new mirrors, and sink and shower faucet fixtures.  We picked out granite counter tops at a vendor Todd recommended.  Then Todd stopped by the house, confirmed all construction details, and we signed the contract about a week after our first contact with TLG Tile.  The estimate from TLG Tile was more than $10K less than two other estimates for the same (or less) work from two other contractors.  The only items we had to get elsewhere were bathroom light fixtures and door handles/drawer pulls.  The work involved converting one bath to a shower stall and moving the shower head to a different wall, installation of new lights over the shower/bathtub for each bathroom, more efficient toilets and exhaust fans, and several new electrical outlets.  The cost included all work, including demolition, removal of old materials, installation of all items (including the lights), baseboard molding, and painting.
Todd set up a schedule to do the bathrooms one at a time, so we would always have access to a working bathroom, starting 22 September.  The work was performed right on schedule, with one day for demolition, electrical, and plumbing work; one-to-two days for tile installation, one day for installing baseboards and painting, and one day for installing cabinets, counter tops, toilets, medicine cabinet, sink/shower/tub faucets, light fixtures, and shower doors.  The work was complete within two weeks, except for installation of a frameless shower door and panel that had to be special ordered, only after the tile was already installed.  [Todd provided us with a temporary tension rod and shower curtain to use the shower while waiting for the special ordered glass.]
The TLG work crew showed up on time every day, put down drop cloths and rubber mats to protect our new hardwood floors (which did not sustain even a scratch), worked diligently each day to complete the work, cleaned up the work site at the end of each day, and were always polite and respectful of others in the house.  Todd maintained excellent communications with us throughout the entire process, double-checking a few items to make sure that there were no misunderstandings.  Todd allowed us to make some minor changes (adding towel racks) in the middle of the process, and he immediately fixed a couple of things that came up during installation (adjusting the bathtub faucet to deliver hotter water, and adding a small rubber bumper to the medicine cabinet door so it did not create a problem when it opened up against the bathroom mirror).
We had picked TLG Tile because of the excellent reviews they had received on Angie's List (including a 10 percent discount), and we were extremely pleased with the communications, advice, materials options, installation, care, and quality that we received from Todd and TLG.  I would not hesitate to use TLG's services again, or to recommend their services to others.

After our wonderful experience with TLG Tile redoing our master bathroom, we contacted them about turning our unfinished basement into a quilting/sewing studio, family room, and installing a finished bathroom. The owner, Todd, came to our home and we explored our ideas, we provided him a rough sketch of our vision, he took measurements, and we listened to his suggestions. We then went to TLG's showroom and worked with his wife on selecting tile for the bathroom, tile for in front of the walkout basement door, water faucet fixtures, cabinetry, and toilet. Todd then returned to our home with suggested modifications and options to our layout, incorporated some changes we had, and provided a price to perform the project. In the following weeks TLG secured the building permits while we cleared the basement space that was going to finish. We encountered a short delayed start (little over a week) when TLG realized that our home is within the Town of Herndon and permits needed to be obtained from the town instead of Fairfax County. That was not a problem to us as TLG was willing to work around our planned vacation. About 7 weeks after signing the contract TLG's crew started. In the first week framing and electrical wiring were performed, lights installed, part of the basement floor excavated where the toilet and shower drain were to go, and plumbing ran. The electrical team was super in running speaker wires for the surround sound system we plan to install, Ethernet cable for the smart TV, and installing several additional electrical outlets in the living space and utility room where the water heater, furnace, and extra refrigerator are located. After those areas passed electrical and plumbing inspections, the second week was devoted to installing insulation, drywalling and installing tile in the bathroom and in front of the walkout basement door. The man overseeing the painting gave us the amount of paint to purchase for the ceiling, trim, doors, and walls and stain for the banister. The third week involved painting and installing the banisters, doors, door hardware (we purchased separately), cabinetry, and bathroom fixtures. We are extremely pleased with the work performed by TLG and the responsiveness of their crew to our questions and requests. Problems were quickly resolved. For example, after the carpet was installed (not by TLG), doors into a closet wouldn't close due to the height of the carpet and one of the pocket doors was rubbing. TLG came back and fixed those issues. There was a delay in obtaining the final inspection due to the type of glue used for the bathroom sink, but TLG addressed to the satisfaction of the building inspector.
It has been about a month since TLG completed the work and overall we thoroughly enjoyed our experience with TLG, the quality of the work performed, and highly recommend them. Todd even sent a Thank You note appreciating our business.

Outstanding! Owner Todd Gilbert impressed us with his understanding of our vision and helped it come to fruition. He was very patient, and asked lots of questions, often stopping to show us pictures of previous jobs he had done so we could see what different design options actually looked like. He never pressured us to select more expensive tile or fixtures. He even suggested several cost saving measures that had the same design impact. We visited their showroom to pick out the tile and fixtures. The magnitude of available choices could have been overwhelming had it not been for the owners wife, who patiently guided us through the selection process. The workers showed up each day on time, and worked tirelessly late into the afternoon. They took care to cover entrance way flooring, doors and nearby furniture. The area was broom swept each day before leaving. They consulted frequently to ensure we were satisfied with work, especially during tile placement. We love our new bathrooms!
