We are now a Class A contractor. Our business focus will change with this new status. We will not be able to take on as many smaller projects as in the past. However, if you want to know the most information possible about your project prior to work beginning, you are in the right place, but please do not use us as an estimating service. We provide evaluations, (sometimes at a fee) of the requested work with budgetary estimates that you can use to make your decisions. Our extensive construction knowledge sets us apart from all the other companies and we are simply the best value out there. Our ability to "value engineer" a project is superior and we will guard some information/trade secrets to ensure we stay above the "pack". Once you commit to ZPL, you will be educated from start to finish. We function as a family owned & operated business and I am a working boss spending a great deal of time in the field on your projects making sure all is done well which helps to ensures our standards remain high. This can however, slow our response times on estimates and scheduling estimates from time to time so please be patient with us. You will get the same great service others are getting right now after you commit to ZPL and are scheduled accordingly. We are adding tradesmen as we can afford and as we find the right folks which will help us serve more of you quicker. If you are reading this please be sure to visit our website and fill out the contact form. This will ensure we can contact you ASAP. www.zeropunchlist.com Please be patient with us. We will give you the same dedication we are giving our current clients when your turn comes around. Rome was not built in a day and although the internet has made it very easy to make contact with someone's business, there are still logistical issues to coordinate and resolve before we all get what we want and when we want it. We will serve you with the same exhaustive service we are giving our current clients. We accept checks and cash for services rendered. If you are using one of our coupons or taking advantage of the senior discount (65 yrs), please let us know that prior to soliciting an estimate. Thanks. We are so much more than what you might think

"Cross-posted from Google. I feel funny writing this review because all but one of the other reviews on this site are all 5 stars and my experience with this company doesn't rate nearly that well. First off, I picked this company based on all of the glowing reviews I read about it. My expectations were very high considering the words from previous reviews stating that the work was "craftsman quality". I was able to find one review on this site (Angie's List) that supports my experience so this is definitely not a one-time deal. I have worked as an engineer for the last 30 years and have very high standards that I hold myself to and expect the same from folks that I pay for work as well. Brian came to my house and told us what he planned to do for the stair railing and iron baluster project that I wanted completed. This is the first upgrade of a bigger project that will replace all of my floors and stairs with solid wood. We gave him free reign of the house and he took advantage of it. Knowing that, Brian asked my wife about the floors and she told him they were getting replaced so he didn't have to be extra careful. That was probably our first mistake since he proceeded to get stain and other stuff all over the carpet. He apparently thought that allowing him to ruin the carpet also meant that he didn't have to worry about the walls around the area he was working. While stripping the stain and lacquer around the wood anchor points for the railing on the walls he got crap all over them and then when he stained it got stain on the walls as well. He didn't even tape around any of the painted areas that he was working next to. The name of his company is "The Finishing Company" but the finishing part seems to have been left out of my project. My wife complained to him about the walls and he begrudgingly stated that he would touch up the paint as long as she went and bought paint. She bought the paint and he basically just slapped the paint on the walls with no care to it looking good or blending in at all. Remember this is "The Finishing Company" we are talking about! After six work days the time came for him to reveal the "finished" project and my wife and I were disappointed. Brian presented the project as complete but we noticed that the finished/stained oak pieces showed cross-grain, deep sand marks that had been stained over to show the flaw even better. Also, the buttons used to cover the screws holding down the base oak were sanded flat, as he stated he would do from the beginning, but he didn't sand all of them flat. I asked what about these ones and he stated that he couldn't reach them with the sander and that he didn't "have to" sand them flat. This was all after he stated he would sand them flat the very first day! He also glues the iron balusters in the hand rail and the glue looks very sloppy where it is glued in. I can see it very clearly every time I walk up the stairs. Brian said that I needed to stand back at the front door and look at the project, which looks good from a distance until you are the owner and look at it every day close up as you walk up the stairs and see the flaws. I believe that all of the things that we complained about would have taken him very little time to fix but he couldn't be bothered with it. He argued with me about everything I pointed out to him and brushed everything off telling me that people pay extra for the "flaws" to make it look old and worn. I told him I didn't pay for those flaws but it didn't faze him one bit. He didn't clean up well daily when he left for the day and left pieces of sharp screws in the carpet as well as bits of metal, staples, and very sharp wood as well. Since the project spanned the 3 day Memorial Day weekend (which he didn't work), Brian left most of his stuff in the house, barely out of our way. My wife was at home the whole time during the project and said that Brian slammed the door going into and out of my garage every time he went in and out. We certainly didn’t get the same “craftsman” Brian that other reviewers on this and other site's got. He asked me what percentage I gave him and I initially said 90% and he thought that was good. If you ran 90% of a race would that be considered finished? That last 10% was the important part and the part I see daily walking up and down those stairs. Brian wrote me an email asking me to change or delete my review on Google and when I told him I wouldn't he began to write very ugly and unprofessional things about me and my family in emails to me. I have many other pictures, besides the 2 provided, of everything and also all of the emails sent to me if anyone is interested."

Wrought Iron questions, answered by experts

You’ll need to bury the garden fence about 1 foot underground. It’s tempting to save on materials by burying the fence just a couple of inches, but if you do so, determined pests will still be able to dig under the fence and access your plants. Burying your garden fence deep into the soil is an important step that allows you to attach a wire barrier to the fencing.

Burrowing animals (like voles, moles, rabbits, and gophers) can’t dig or chew through this wiring, meaning that you’ll be keeping your prized petunias or your robust veggie garden from being eaten.

Because it's cost-effective and does a great job of keeping pests out and plants in, vinyl is probably the best option for building a DIY garden fence. The material is also easier to work with than metal, which may prompt a homeowner to tackle the project themselves instead of hiring a pro.

Chicken wire is also a great option to put on top of your vinyl fencing, as it’s budget-friendly and easily accessible.

Deer can crawl under a fence if it has a gap of around 6 inches or more. Make sure to close all gaps at the bottom of your fence to keep deer out, and the bottom of the material should be tightly secured, or the deer will push right through it. As an added benefit, closing shorter gaps at the bottom of a fence can also keep rabbits out of your yard.

A high-quality wrought iron fence should last you a lifetime, but it will require some TLC on your end. Wrought iron fences are incredibly strong and durable, but they can be susceptible to rust and corrosion, so you’ll need to clean and refinish your fence every two to three years. If you notice rust developing, hire a professional fence repair company to clean the rust and reseal the area of fencing to prolong its life span.

The most common type of metal fence today is one made of either steel or aluminum. These materials are relatively easy to fabricate, making them much more cost-effective than traditional metal fencing handmade from wrought iron. They’re also much lighter and easier to install, contributing to their affordability and making them more DIY-friendly.
