Zero Punch-List LLC
About us
We are now a Class A contractor. Our business focus will change with this new status. We will not be able to take on as many smaller projects as in the past. However, if you want to know the most information possible about your project prior to work beginning, you are in the right place, but please do not use us as an estimating service. We provide evaluations, (sometimes at a fee) of the requested work with budgetary estimates that you can use to make your decisions. Our extensive construction knowledge sets us apart from all the other companies and we are simply the best value out there. Our ability to "value engineer" a project is superior and we will guard some information/trade secrets to ensure we stay above the "pack". Once you commit to ZPL, you will be educated from start to finish. We function as a family owned & operated business and I am a working boss spending a great deal of time in the field on your projects making sure all is done well which helps to ensures our standards remain high. This can however, slow our response times on estimates and scheduling estimates from time to time so please be patient with us. You will get the same great service others are getting right now after you commit to ZPL and are scheduled accordingly. We are adding tradesmen as we can afford and as we find the right folks which will help us serve more of you quicker. If you are reading this please be sure to visit our website and fill out the contact form. This will ensure we can contact you ASAP. www.zeropunchlist.com Please be patient with us. We will give you the same dedication we are giving our current clients when your turn comes around. Rome was not built in a day and although the internet has made it very easy to make contact with someone's business, there are still logistical issues to coordinate and resolve before we all get what we want and when we want it. We will serve you with the same exhaustive service we are giving our current clients. We accept checks and cash for services rendered. If you are using one of our coupons or taking advantage of the senior discount (65 yrs), please let us know that prior to soliciting an estimate. Thanks. We are so much more than what you might think

"Thank you [Member Name Removed] for the kind words. We all enjoyed performing your work and hope that you find our time together beneficial. Should you ever have any questions or need our services in the future, please call. Weston Hinden"
"Firstly, I would love to know who you are. We show no such client in our QuickBooks or email searches. Further we show no $695 deposit for such work. Sooooo..... I am not sure how to respond to your review with ratings all over the spectrum. This actually looks like SPAM or slander. Please accurately identify yourself and when we performed the work you claim so we can address the review with an appropriate reply. Weston Hinden"
"[Member Name Removed], so sorry to have not responded prior to this. I simply did not notice we had not replied to date. Hope all is well and have a blessed Christmas '17. Weston"
I would definitely use them again.
"[Member name], Thank you for your kind words. I was our pleasure serving you and getting to know your family. Have you added any new winery visits lately? Enjoy the up coming holiday seasons. Weston"
"[Member name removed], Thank you for taking your time to submit a review. We thank you for valuing the process of the reviews as many do not take the time to furnish a review. In most cases when they don't furnish a review, we must have done our job so well because if things were not done well, I am sure we would hear about it. Thanks again. Weston"
"(Removed member name), Glad everything worked out well. Weston"
"[member name removed], Thanks for your review. We were glad to have been able to help with your list of items. Please pass our name along to others. Weston"
"Hmmm. I am so sorry, but I do not recall working for you and I can not find your address or personal information in our record keeping anywhere during the 2014 year or through a general search. Though we are very happy when clients take their time to submit a review on our work performance, we want to make sure that the review is a review of our company and not of another. I will need to ask the assistance of my Angie's List account manager to help further the validity and accuracy of this review. Though a "B" is still a good review, when we do "a very good job" we normally receive A's. Mr. [member name removed], if can forward additional information we will gladly update our records. Weston Hinden"
Weston and his team were great to work with. Our new home lacked an office space which made it less functional for us. My husband found a picture where the space in a two story entryway was used to create an upstairs loft. I had another contractor come out to provide an estimate and they could not even envision what we were asking to be done. When Weston came to view our space, he immediately started looking at the proportions and measuring the space! I feel very fortunate for us to have found someone who could help us take our idea and make it concrete. We did not realize it at the time, but the space was fairly small and narrow, so it could not be used to add an extra room, but with Weston's help we were able to use space from the oversized master bedroom that abutted the area to create an office and also add closet space. Our ideas at the time were not fleshed out, because we were not sure it could be done. Weston was instrumental in helping us to decide how we wanted to use the space and the practical realities of what could be done. He was a great communicator and ensured that the details were discussed and executed deliberately. Weston also created custom bookshelves for the new hallway. He was very up front about the fact that we could buy bookshelves off the rack to put in the space for much less, but we wanted something permanent and also something that could be bolted to the wall studs for safety. Weston is meticulous about the work that is done and will fix anything that is not done to a high standard. I appreciated that he took the time to ensure that the paint work both in the rooms and on the custom shelving was done right. There were some delays with the project when there was staff turnover or if someone was ill. However, I was not on a specific timeline, so it was more important to me that the work be done correctly than that it met a deadline. It took me a bit of time to write this review, because I was pregnant at the time and things did not settled down until recently, but I definitely wanted to provide feedback on the great job that was done.
What
I DID NOT LIKE: 4 weeks later than estimated (2 weeks I was gone on
vacation and no work was performed), Underestimated laminate flooring
costs, thus I had to pay 1200 more from their subcontractor - NOTE I
would NOT have gotten the laminate flooring if I was given an accurate
estimate, as it was WAY higher than I would have paid with that extra
1000 bucks.
For anyone in the future: 1) Include something in
the contract where if they are a month late, they need to be penalized.
2) Have the contract state that any wrong estimates for work performed
will be EATEN/NOT TO EXCEED the quote. Its one thing if they didnt have
the sq footage, but they did. They left out the moulding costs and
underestimated the costs of materials.
Would I use them again?
Maybe, I know the quality and staff is good, the budget and money are
important too and I got hosed by 1200, and had to send their
subcontractor out to fix one of the boards. It was fixed (as it should
be), so I am on the fence. I guess I just say, High Quality Work, timing
and estimates should be discussed. Im a rental property owner, so I am more serious about timing and going over budget. Each month late is a month I am not receiving 900/mo in rents, so it is serious for my business.
"Thank you [member name removed]. I often think of you all when I pass your road. Did your son ever get to finish the car you had under tarps? I know he was excited about it. Thanks again for the review. Weston"
The only work that was subbed out was the tub surround and floor tile. Weston's work load was very heavy when he started my job, and he explained that he sometimes does the tile himself, but other times uses trusted subs to do the work when he is overloaded. The tile guy did a great job on the tub surround, which included a difficult chevron pattern in the middle; however, he didn't do a great on the marble floor tile. Weston inspected the job after it was completed, and before I could say a word, he apologized for the floor tile and said he would tear it up and do it again himself at his expense. This put us behind schedule, but it was wonderful to have a contractor who is a perfectionist and doesn't make excuses when a problem pops up.
My job included several change orders for the subfloor, floor joists, plumbing replacements, etc., and I felt that his charges were very reasonable. I objected to one minor item on the final invoice, and after discussing it, we agreed to split the cost 50/50. I was very satisfied with the end result.
Weston is a good communicator and very easy to work with. His employees are courteous and friendly. They cleaned up the work area really well every night, and were otherwise really great to work with. I will (and have) recommend Weston and his crew for all manner of renovations, large and small. The only caveat would be that he's very busy right now, so it might take him a while to fit you in. But the wait will be worth it. :)
"Thanks [Member name removed] for taking the time to submit your review. I am glad that our efforts and input facilitated the sale of your home. I am going to mention the actual job cost of $16,337 as the review only shows $16.00 and a list of the tasks performed: Hardwood floor installation, hardwood railing installation, door installation, drywall repairs, painting, pressure washing, deck repairs, curios cabinet construction, column building and exterior trim replacement. Thanks again for the review. Weston"
"[member name removed], I am, glad we hit the mark. We try very hard to understand our clients wants and needs. Some times the structure itself will dictate what can or can't be done. Glad the space is what you wanted. Weston"
"Thank you for your review. My apologies for not entering our response sooner. It has been a very busy winter and spring and not without it's scheduling issues. Zoning delays, permit delays, damaged cabinets that needed to reordered (twice). Etc. I am glad you approved of our work and we too enjoyed your company. Your dogs were great too! Weston"
"It is always a pleasure to assist a property owner in preserving their investments through good sound construction practices and by doing a good job. The house looks great with decks stained. Good choice. Weston and Lori"
We could not have been happier with the quality of the work; the timeliness of the job; and general communication. During the course of the job, we dealt with several family members/friends/employees of Zero Punch List and every one of them were friendly and professional. Zero Punch List will be our go-to company whenever we need any job done around the house.
"I am always glad when a client just can't believe how good things turn out. That means we have done well. Best of luck with your new plans in the future. Weston and Lori Hinden"
