"I have used Patchmasters on several project, repairing walls and ceiling after damage. Their work is amazing. They are the only ones I use now if I need wall/ceiling repairs, and painting. I highly recommend them!!!"

"They did an excellent job. The prep work was great and all rough spots were smoothed out and repaired. The finish on the paint is perfect. They were on-time and did a fantastic job with communication. My only complaint is that we found a few tiny paint spots from when they sprayed the ceiling on the carpet after they left, but I was able to clean them up. We will definitely use them again for future projects."

"Very well. We were told up front that Keith had enough work already booked that he'd have to set a date a ways out, but when that date arrived, so did Holladay Handyman. We'd gone over what I wanted, what it would take and clearly got on the same page. They were here daily, didn't disappear. Meticulous in doing it right in the function and appearance of the work and cleanup."

Popcorn Ceilings questions, answered by experts

On average, repairing a ceiling costs anywhere from $450 to $1,750. However, there are many variables that can impact the price of this project. For example, the type of ceiling material, type and extent of the damage, and local labor rates all affect your costs. Holes and cracks are less expensive to fix, while structural issues and water damage are pricier problems.

Older textures may contain asbestos, requiring careful handling and professional inspection before work begins to ensure safety compliance.

Textured walls are a great way to hide imperfections left over by drywall installation, but many homeowners feel like it’s an outdated look, despite there being so many types of drywall texture. And while the textured walls of today are a far cry from the popcorn ceilings and faux stucco of our grandmother’s homes, if you want a more modern look or you want to install wallpaper, it’s time to smooth out your walls.

Knockdown hides imperfections better than orange peel due to its thicker, more varied pattern. The valleys and peaks make flaws less visible under lighting. However, note that knockdown walls will collect more dust and dirt, so be prepared to wipe them away more frequently than you would with orange peel.

If your popcorn ceiling contains asbestos, you must hire a professional asbestos removal company to handle the disposal. If your popcorn ceiling does not have asbestos, you can call a popcorn ceiling removal specialist to handle the job. Otherwise, you can hire a drywall or painting professional to handle the job, depending on what you need done.
