"Very good at diagnosing. The apprentice was able to find the leak within minutes. Still charged me for diagnostic services. Estimated drain cleaning at nearly $300.00. I ve heard others charge $80.00. I opted for their drain cleaning fluid which cost almost $200.00. They were very nice, clean, and efficient."

Alex and Chris were very professional and helpful throughout the process. Their workers were also very focused and got a difficult job done quickly. When there was a problem, Alex, Chris and Francisco immediately were there to help resolve the issue! I would highly recommend this company for anyone who has a concrete project in mind!"

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

There are several things you can do to maintain your sump pump and prevent sump pump problems. For instance, keeping a lid on your sump pit goes a long way in protecting your pump system from silt, sand, dirt, and other debris. When water drains from the outside, such as along your foundation, or with melting snow, water runoff often brings sediment with it.

Also be wary of corrosion, particularly if your sump pump system is made of metal. Keep an eye out for rust and have it inspected regularly by a plumber or sump pump technician.

Whether professional drainage installation is covered by insurance depends on your specific policy and the circumstances. In some cases, homeowners insurance may cover the cost if drainage problems pose a risk to your home's foundation or structural integrity. However, it's essential to review your insurance policy, understand the terms and conditions, and consult with your insurance provider to determine if your particular situation qualifies for coverage. Coverage may vary, so it's crucial to clarify the details with your insurer.

Whether to waterproof your basement from the interior or exterior depends on several factors, including your budget.

Exterior waterproofing is generally considered the superior method because it stops water at the source, preventing it from seeping into and damaging your basement walls. This approach offers the most protection, making it ideal if you use your basement for storage.

By contrast, interior waterproofing is often less expensive and requires less labor because the area is more accessible.

For maximum protection against water leakage and moisture, applying waterproofing measures to both the inside and outside is the best solution. However, if you must choose only one, stopping water from the outside is the most effective approach to preserve your foundation and prevent damage.

In most cases, standard homeowners insurance policies do not cover damage from a sump pump failure or overflow. Coverage for water damage is often limited to sudden, unexpected events like a burst pipe that was not caused by negligence. To be covered for sump pump issues, you will likely need to purchase a specific rider, endorsement, or additional water backup insurance. If your insurer offers this type of coverage, they may require proof that your sump pump is regularly maintained.

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to drain wastewater and solid waste into the municipal sewer system or a septic tank. For fixtures below this level, like those in a basement, gravity cannot move the waste upward. The ejector pump provides the force needed to pump the sewage up to the main line. Without one, wastewater from below-ground fixtures would back up, potentially causing a sewage overflow and flooding. If all of your plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity is sufficient and an ejector pump is not needed.
