They were communicative with scheduling and fit in the critical jobs that affected my neighbors' water when some of the work needed to be rescheduled. "My 20 plus yr old swamp cooler recently developed a leak in the pan that was unfixable. Finding companies that still deal with swamp cooler replacement is becoming more difficult in SLC area as homeowner march towards central air units. I still prefer the simplicity yet efficiency of them. Plus very cost effective to run. I received a reasonable estimate and picked Manwill. Due to a busy schedule the crew agreed to come by on a Saturday for the install, less than 2 weeks from date of estimate. The installation went quite smoothly and I had my new swamp cooler up and running within 4 hrs."

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

A sump pump can be added to an existing basement. To do this, you will need to use a jackhammer or sledgehammer to break up the concrete and dig a pit. You will also need to create a hole in your basement wall to run the discharge pipe through.

Yes, you can finish a basement that leaks, as long as you address the leak first. Before finishing a basement, you’ll need to repair any cracks in the walls and waterproof the basement to prevent future leaks. It’s much harder to clean up a water leak from a finished basement than an unfinished one, so preemptively addressing any leaking areas prevents expensive repairs in the future.

A sump pump battery backup can typically run for 6 to 24 hours. The factors that affect its runtime include the battery capacity and pump usage.

When purchasing your backup system, take these factors into consideration to determine which system is best for your home. If you live in an area with frequent and long-lasting power outages, consider a longer-lasting backup battery.

Several factors can impact the cost of waterproofing your basement. Some of the most common cost factors include:

  • Location

  • Square footage

  • Cause of the water leak

  • Type of foundation

  • Accessibility

  • Waterproofing method

  • Materials

  • Contractor experience and availability

  • Engineering reports, if needed

  • Structural and other repairs

  • Permits

Installing a battery backup for your sump pump is recommended, particularly if you live in an area with frequent power outages or severe rainstorms. A sump pump requires electricity to function, and a battery backup ensures it can continue to move water out of your home if the power goes out, providing crucial protection against flooding. Additionally, frequent power outages can create electrical surges that might damage the sump pump's motor. A battery backup system offers an additional layer of protection, ensuring your basement stays dry.
