Small jobs welcome

"Air Duct Cleaners is absolutely the best we have ever used! They did a fantastic job and our home feels even cooler than it did before they cleaned out everything. That has never happened before! Their pricing is very fair and the workers are very professional and explained everything to us very well. Other companies have tried to upsell us but not Air Duct Cleaners. Great company! We highly recommend them!!!"

"I have several large trees on my property and have worked with some of the local tree service companies in the past. Colton from Black Knight is by far the best tree service guy in town. On time, excellent work, great price and pro knowledge. Save yourself the time, donâ t try and tackle this job on your own, call Black Knight."

"We actually had our air vents and ducts cleaned. They were amazing and quick. They educated us about the ducts and the cleaning. Ben was nice, professional, and friendly. He went above and beyond to make sure that all our questions were answered. I am very happy with the service. He is going to help us get someone out to fix a few things with the HVAC system. "Kevin Crickenberger, Holiday Heating, provided us with exceptional quality service and value when replacing our 50+ year-old steam boiler. This project was difficult as it required disassembling the boiler to get it down a set of stairs into the basement and then reassembling the boiler and steam pipe network. Kevin and his crew went above and beyond to get this work completed. We will have Kevin do our annual maintenance on the new boiler and highly recommend him for any maintenance, repair, or replacement of boiler systems."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, government incentives and programs are available to encourage energy-efficient upgrades in many regions. These incentives may include tax credits, rebates, grants, and low-interest loans for homeowners who invest in energy-efficient improvements such as HVAC system upgrades, insulation, and efficient windows. The availability and specific details of these incentives can vary by location, so check with your local government or utility company to explore your options.

You can run an HRV with air conditioning—assuming that you decide to keep the system on during the summer. The HRV will continue to bring in fresh outdoor air, which will then flow into your AC unit and cool down your home. It will also keep moving the stuffy indoor air out of your house.

Aside from needing HVAC repair, there are times when you may need to replace your unit. HVAC replacement costs $5,000 to $12,500. Here are some telltale signs that your HVAC unit is going bad:

  • Your unit is 10 years or older.

  • Your home is very humid.

  • The unit keeps cycling without producing cool air.

  • You need to repair the unit frequently.

While your AC unit may still run even if its capacitor is going bad, doing so takes a lot more energy, so it can drive up your electric bill and cause further damage to your AC unit’s parts. If you suspect a bad capacitor, it’s important to have a professional diagnose and fix the problem before you continue to run your AC.

Vents may blow air even though the air conditioning system is off because of the pressure difference between indoor and outdoor air or drafts from leaky ducts. Check for leaks or drafts in the ductwork or around windows and doors.
