"I highly recommend Good Attic as an attic insulation service provider. They provided competitor pricing and were highly professional, with communication that made the insulation and rebate process particularly smooth from start to finish."

"They got back to me immediately after I contacted Angi, in fact they were the first company to contact me. They accommodated my schedule by dividing the job into 3 visits and did a great job insulating my attic."

"I had 24 windows replaced by them. The owner is friendly and pleasant to deal with. I had about 20 issues with the job, ranging from minor annoyances to major problems. The owner agreed that all of them were valid. The major problems included things like the installer not showing up, them ordering the wrong products, and taking 7 weeks to do the job that was scheduled to be complete in 2 days. On a 5 star rating system I would rate them as: Value-4, Communication-2, Quality-3, Execution-2. If you are not a discerning individual and have plenty of time on your hands, you would probably be fine with them"

"Our furnace would not turn off, so we first tried putting new batteries in our programmable thermostat. However, doing that did not fix the problem. Next, I called Parley’s PPM Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling for some help. David, who answered the phone, was pleasant and helpful, and he made an appointment for us for the next day within the 8 am to 10 am time period. Meanwhile, we worked on reprogramming the thermostat, which was a bit tricky, but the furnace began working properly again. We thought we would have the Parley’s furnace specialist check our furnace anyway, just to make sure there were no other problems with it. Robert Winget, the furnace specialist, arrived within the proposed time frame and was very knowledgeable and professional. He checked out our furnace and found no problems with it and there was no charge for the service."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Yes, eco-friendly blown-in insulation options include materials made from recycled cellulose or wool. These offer excellent thermal performance and sustainability, reducing energy consumption and environmental impact while enhancing home efficiency.

Yes, brick houses are better insulated, because the bricks slow down the passage of air from the outside to the inside and vice-versa. This helps to stabilize the internal temperature of the home. When combined with proper residential insulation, brick houses are more efficient and better insulated than other types.

Regular inspections for moisture damage, pest infestations, and proper R-value performance help maintain efficiency.

A-frame houses pose specific challenges that can make heating difficult. Their open concept design with high ceilings can lead to a colder lower floor and a warmer upper floor. A ceiling fan that pushes warm air down or pulls cold air up, depending on the season, can easily counteract temperature issues. Additionally, certain types of heating do better in these homes than others. For example, heated floors tend to be more practical and energy efficient than baseboard heating.

In nearly all cases, you are required to install a vapor barrier in your crawl space. However, local regulations will change based on the local climate and the crawl space's susceptibility to moisture. Even if a vapor barrier is not legally required, it is often a good idea to keep your crawl space dry.
