"The project was mounting a 75" TV to wall along with the sound bar. It was a husband and wife team who worked very well together. R & D was able to provide a solution to the placement of the soundbar when discovered it was not compatible with the rack. Their expertise was appreciated. Professional and friendly service. Fair prices as well."

"Excellent service, very fast response to my request for service, picked up laptop, diagnosed issues. Initially thought it was an OS update issue but the hard drive had failed along with other components (including 'CPU). Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. The laptop was repaired and returned in less than a week. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. I would recommend this company to my family./friends and will use again."

"Southland screens did a great job for us enclosing our patio that included a beautiful door and the perfect puppy door. Zack and Taylor, owners, listened to our needs and did a perfect job. Our puppy door was a challenge as we have a 5 pound Yorkie to accommodate. They took the time to research doors and found the perfect one and spent 30 minutes to install a custom fit. It showed that they cared about us and our needs! If you need a screen enclosure of any kind be sure and contact them for a quote. Very reasonable with their pricing and what you get is beyond expectations- well done Zack and Taylor. We are looking forward to enjoying our patio, bug free!! Thank you Southland Screen Enclosures! Window Screen Repair questions, answered by experts

There are a number of ways to secure windows. You can add motion detectors or window sensors to detect movement and impact or change the window locks to make them stronger. Some of the ways you can secure windows are much like how you secure a home: closing the curtains at night and setting up security cameras outside so you can monitor your property even in your absence.

The most affordable way to screen in a porch is to add a base track system to an existing wooden frame. The whole process should cost around $2,000 for supplies, depending on the size of your porch. It’s much pricier to build a screened-in porch or sunroom from scratch—and you’ll probably need to hire a contractor for a project like that.

Most windows last for 15 to 30 years, depending on the frame material and the glass quality, but most will require repairs during that time. Windows gradually lose efficiency, so it’s usually best to have a window repair technician inspect and service your windows every five to 10 years. You should also repair your windows if you experience the following:

  • Leaks

  • Drafts

  • Difficulty opening or closing

  • Sudden increases in heating and cooling bills

  • Outdoor noise becomes more audible

  • Signs of physical damage

Yes, you can replace the screen without removing the door in most cases depending on the frame holding the screen. Doors with removable spline and screen frames make it a snap to replace the mesh while the door remains in place. The best part is that it’s a simple DIY project requiring a few tools in addition to the screen material.

Window repairs cost $175 to $615, depending on the type of repair. Because double-hung windows have two sashes and multiple pieces of hardware, like locks and handles, there are many parts that can break over time. Repairing locks, latches, or other hardware costs about $75 to $200 and is easy to DIY. Fixing one or multiple sashes costs about $200 to $600.
