"We hired Gerardo to install two bathroom exhaust fans. Him and his team completed the job very quickly and professionally. They also provided a warranty for the roof work and took photos of everything to show us. His team also added additional switches for the exhaust fans and cleaned up before leaving. We are extremely happy with the work and will be hiring him again for additional needs."

"My refrigerator was making loud vibrating noises for 15 to 20 minutes at least once a day and at night.  On December 19, Jose diagnosed that the noise was from the evaporator fan.  He suggested that a new evaporator fan assembly would eliminate the noise.  He discussed the discount I would receive and his fee.  A week later, on December 26, Jose removed the worn out evaporator fan and installed the new one.  He then tested its operation and found it o.k.  Jose is very professional, knowledgeable and courteous.  He answered all my questions and made suggestions about other appliance issues I inquired about.  He applied the discount which he explained I would receive on his first visit.  I give First Priority Appliance Repair an "A" and intend to use them in the future.

"The people from Insulation Works were extremely courteous and worked within my schedule availability. Additionally, they told me about an energy rebate I would be eligible for because of the insulation, that I wasn't aware of. They were very professional and did an excellent job. The new fan works to automatically to limit the temperature and humidity in my attic, while the additional insulation will not only lower my utility bills but reduce external noises."

"Everytime we have a home repair we call Jon Wayne. They installed a new air conditioning system. They found and repaired a bathroom leak after two other companies cut unnecessary holes in our wall and still misdiagnosed the problem! Jon Wayne also found a sink leak we'd been looking for and even did a complimentary check on our other plumbing and found a potentially dangerous problem with how our water heater was installed. They also replaced our outside electrical panel again identifying a potential dangerous problem. Their technicians are ALWAYS friendly and professional and go out of their way to clean up after their work."

"I went on Angie's List to find an electrician. On the list , he had the most reviews. I called him and received a tentative quote. I called 2 more electricians and called him right back. We scheduled a date. He came on time. He had to special order due to the fan's age. A few days later he came back and did the job. He had informed me that he had to pay extra to get the fan quickly. I offered to compensate; he REFUSED!. He stated a quote is a quote. I would use him again and recommend him highly to anyone seeking an electrician."

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

When maintained and repaired when necessary, your whole-house fan can last between 10 and 20 years. Check your warranty when purchasing the unit, as it will typically only cover between 5 and 15 years. Its longevity will also depend on your local climate and how much you use the fan. Having a professional size your fan appropriately for your home size will also help ensure it doesn’t get overworked, which can limit its lifespan.

The average life span of a thermoelectric fan operating seasonally is two to three years. However, the life span of a wood stove fan depends on its quality, usage, and maintenance. Regular cleaning of the blades and ensuring the fan operates within its recommended temperature range can help prolong its life span.

If you think your fan needs to be oiled, the first thing that you have to do is cut the power to the fan. The best and safest way to do this is by flipping the circuit breaker that leads to that room.  Depending on the model of your fan, you may need to remove a cover. Look for a hole labeled oil. If there isn't one, check the manual or look for schematics online. Once located, use the recommended lubricant or spray.

Yes, ceiling fans come with a few other features that help with function, style, and convenience. Multi-speed fans can give you specialized control over the airflow. Consider getting one with an integrated light to save ceiling space. Some ceiling fans come with a remote control that enables you to change direction without climbing a ladder. Of course, you can also consider installing a wall switch to enjoy that convenience.

Exhaust fans push air out of spaces, removing moisture, heat, odors, and pollutants. They vent air outside through ducts, preventing mold and improving air quality. Unlike ventilation fans, which circulate fresh air in and out, exhaust fans focus solely on expelling unwanted indoor air.
