We have a 3 story house, but part is only 1.5 story with a steeply pitched roof. For the safety of his men they needed to use a scissor lift. In order to save us some money he delayed our job to coincide with another job where he needed to rent a scissor lift and we split the price with the other party. He also informed us that due to some of the inconsistencies he'd already seen in our home, he wasn't sure if there would be house-wrap... fortunately for us, there was indeed housewrap. While re-siding the home someone broke a sky-light that is on our porch. He replaced it at no additional charge. Also during that time his men smelled natural gas while working on one side of the house. I had smelled gas intermittently, but it was gone when I had someone come out. He called me and asked if they could investigate. He found where someone had used the incorrect pipe to run our gas line. He turned off all the gas in the home and corrected this problem. He was upfront about everything as we went along. The next year (2013) we had him re-roof the house as it started to leak in another area. While the roof was off one section of the house we had a sudden rainstorm. Water was pouring into the laundry room. I called Clyde and he and his roofing specialist came over immediately. The roofing specialist went up on the roof and fixed the problem. Each time his crew has come out they have been nothing but pleasant. They have cleaned up after themselves. We have found the occasional roofing shingle buried deep in my flower bushes, but not often. Once when the dog got out, they tried and tried to chase him down and get him back. Finally they did give up as it's a large dog made for running... and the dog came right back to them. They seemed like caring people. I was never worried about having his crew around my home with my children. I would use them again."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/tx/tyler/c-b-builder-reviews-5273343.htm"},"position":7},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Broadway Automotive","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"TX","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Kimberley B."},"reviewBody":"We've used Broadway automotive for about 3 years. It's a very small shop, but we get top notch service. I first discovered it when I had a really hard time starting my SUV one morning. I called them on my way to work. I dropped my SUV off and they took me to work. They couldn't find anything wrong and it never had that problem again. I don't remember anything other than a small fee. We've brought our cars to Broadway automotive for all our maintenance and the "funny" noises. I've always felt like they have been curtious. It is a small shop with only 2 car bays and only 3 seats in the waiting area (I think it's an old gas station), but they are always polite and their estimates on when the car will be done have always been accurate. I plan to use them again and I've told lots of my friends. Late last year,, he repaired our gas dryer, replacing a part. Then last Friday, the dryer went out again. I called him late in the day, and he was here before noon on Monday. He replaced the part again, and said he would not charge us for his time and labor, and would try to get the part replaced through warranty. So he charged us nothing today and will bill us for the part if the warranty does not apply. He is professional, fast, and extremely pleasant to deal with. We very highly recommend him for any work you need done.

We are extremely satisfied with our generator purchase. We interviewed several different companies and Alternative Home Energy and Maintenance was the only firm that understood our needs. They did a thorough review of our electrical and gas configuration on the initial sales call, which none...

They are very hard workers. Worked til about 7:30 at night in the rain. Came back the next morning and continued to load the logs and shred the limbs. Cleaned up. Very good equipment.
We have an older plantation-style home that was built bit by bit by different owners. Consequently, we're always discovering interesting things about our home. Someone at our church recommended C B Builders. I called Clyde about a leak in our closet with rain and he came out and repaired...

FAQs for gas log service projects in Van, TX
A gas log fireplace should be inspected and serviced as needed once a year. Preventative maintenance can help keep your fireplace in working condition and save money in the long run by avoiding more costly repairs on parts that could have been fixed sooner with a regular inspection.
The cost difference between a gas fireplace and a wood-burning fireplace depends on the type of wood-burning fireplace installed. The cost to install a gas fireplace tends to be cheaper than the cost to install a brick wood-burning fireplace. Installing a gas fireplace costs about $3,600 on average, whereas the cost to build a masonry wood-burning fireplace can go up to $30,000. The cost to install a wood-burning fireplace insert or stove can cost from $700 to $6,500, about the same as a gas fireplace on average.
The cost to repair a fireplace depends on the type, extent of repairs needed, and your location. The average cost to repair a fireplace varies depending on the part of the fireplace that needs work:
Firebox: $160–$2,500
Refractory panel: $200–$300
Hearth: $150–$800
Mantel: $500–$1,200
Pilot light: $100–$350
Igniter: $100–$150
Gas valve: $150–$300
Thermocouple: $75–$350
Thermopile: $75–$350
Yes, it can be worth installing a gas fireplace, depending on your home heating needs. The cost to install a gas fireplace can be much lower than the cost to install a comparable wood-burning fireplace. The convenience of starting a fire with the flip of a switch and turning it off just as quickly makes a gas fireplace a big time saver over starting and maintaining a wood-fueled fire. A gas fireplace also does not require ash cleanup or frequent chimney cleaning to remove creosote and other buildup that can lead to chimney fires. Gas fireplaces burn and heat much more cleanly than wood fireplaces.
A gas fireplace insert costs about $3,600 to install, on average. The cost to install a gas log insert ranges from about $700 to $6,500, depending on the size, type of insert, how it works, and heating needs. Gas fireplaces need electrical and gas lines installed properly, so hiring a pro is recommended rather than trying to DIY installation.
