"After 2 months of frustration with a roofer who would not respond to messages to get an estimate, I went on Angi’s list to find another roofer. I was so happy to have been placed in contact with Ridgemark Roofing. Casey Frazier contacted me right away to schedule a day he could come out to meet & take a look at our roof. He came out & was very professional & listened to & answered all my concerns. He even came back out that day to seal some staples that were coming loose, since we were expecting rain. A week later we had a new roof! The work was done in one day & was done with good quality materials & excellent craftsmanship! Would recommend highly!!"

I’m a third-generation contractor who grew up around roofing and construction. That background taught me to take pride in doing the job right and treating people fairly. Our work in the Frisco and Dallas–Fort Worth area is built on the same values I was raised with—honesty, quality workmanship, and standing behind what we do.

"Mr. Luna came and inspected my roof. He suggested that I should open a claim with my insurance. He attended the meeting with the Insurance adjuster and went up on the roof during the inspection. He arranged the job the next day after we agreed on the contract and signed. His crew showed up on the day as promised and completed the job in one day. My property was left clean, like they promised. The owner and crew were professional and courteous in every way. I highly recomment Luna Roofing."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Most shed roofs can last between 15 and 30 years, although some roofing materials like slate and clay tile can last for 50 to 100 years.  Choosing durable, waterproof roofing materials that can stand up to weather and the elements will help your shed roof last for years to come. Besides the noticeable signs that your shed roof needs to be replaced, it might also be worth replacing if it’s near the end of its life span.

The easiest way to tell if your roof vent boot is leaking is to look in your attic for signs of water damage. You might see visible moisture, water spots, or mold on the roof decking around the roof vent or damaged or soggy insulation below it. If you don’t have access to your attic or aren’t sure if the vent boot is the issue, hire a professional to come inspect your roof and figure out the underlying issue.

A spray foam roof lasts 20 to 30 years if installed and maintained correctly. Spray foam roofs should be recoated every 10 to 15 years to maintain the UV protection and waterproof surface of the foam material. The longevity of spray foam roofing will depend on the thickness and density of the foam, the protective coating, and how well it’s maintained.

No, you should not close or cover your gable vents in the winter. While it might seem logical to block cold air, heating your home creates hot air that rises and can cause condensation in the attic. If the vents are covered, this moisture becomes trapped, creating an ideal environment for mold and mildew. Keeping the gable vents open ensures proper ventilation, which helps dry out the attic, maintain even temperatures, and prevent moisture-related damage.

Metal roofs have a reputation for being noisy, but with proper installation and adequate insulation, they are not significantly noisier than shingle roofs. The type of metal used can affect the sound level; for instance, steel roofs are typically noisier than slate or asphalt tiles but quieter than aluminum. While some people find the sound of rain on a metal roof pleasant, you can take steps to reduce the noise. Installing a thicker underlayment, adding insulation between the roof and the house, or using acoustic tiles can effectively muffle the sound. The gauge (thickness) of the metal roofing can also contribute to sound dampening.
