"Fenix Electric went beyond expectations to hang a flood light camera, replace an outdoor ceiling fan, clear an issue with a gfci circuit, and install automatic light switches for three outdoor lights. His crew was courteous and professional. The work was done expeditiously. His pricing was very reasonable. I recommend Fenix Electric highly!"

"Awesome!!! We requested a home inspection just before we closed on the purchase of our homestead. It took us months to find a decent certified professional who would understand and review the electrical report. Mr. Jennings read it, explained what the law is regarding codes, and then went out to confirm the codes in detail on his own. Everything was accomplished within a week. He saved up thousands that one other had quoted. In the end, we spent under $250 to bring us up to all safety standards. Thank God Home Advisor recommended him, we hit the jackpot!: Jennings Electric! LLC: 2025 VZ County Road 3104, Edgewood, TX 75117. Mr. Jennings responded immediately, not charging for the trip out to do the estimate. He’s a real winner as opposed to all those who didn’t return calls or meet when appointments were set. He has a lot of welder customers as well, I discovered."

"I was pleased with the quality of the work performed at my home from start to finish. The electricians offered me the possibility of saving some money by purchasing the smoke detectors myself from a hardware store. They gave me clear specifications, so that was easy. They also worked efficiently, explained exactly what they were doing and why, came within the time frame we had agreed on, and left my home clean. I would not hesitate to hire them again."

"I got estimates from several electrical contractors, Fenix electric was the only contractor who walked me through the project step by step and made me understand the procedure if the work to be performed. Mr. Bavaro was very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. He was not the lowest estimate I received, but I feel I made the right choice. He treated my home, and my pets with the utmost respect, and was almost obsessive with keeping the work areas clean. I would highly recommend Fenix Electric to anyone for any electrical job."

"We had A1 upgrade our electric connection from 200 to 400amps. Installing new electric meter, working directly with centerpoint, and installing additional 200 amp generator box. Justin was very clear on the details If the install. Made sure installation was aesthetically pleasing. Checked on his team regularly. Followed up with minor corrections afterwards. Continuously communicated on status, etc. Definitely top notch service."

Ev Charger Installer questions, answered by experts

The cost of installing a 240-volt outlet for an electric car averages between $175 and $300. Depending on the type of outlet as well as labor costs, you might pay as little as $130 or upwards of $400. Hiring a professional electrician makes up the bulk of the expense but ensures a safe and code-compliant installation.

Yes, electricians must be licensed, certified, and in most cases, insured. Licensing requirements vary by state and local municipality, but most U.S. municipalities require electricians to hold an electrical contractor’s license. It's always a good practice to confirm requirements with your local municipality. Even if licensing is not required in your area, hiring a licensed and experienced electrician often leads to a better end result.

A license is a legal requirement to operate a business and is necessary for pulling project permits. Certifications, on the other hand, are typically voluntary and demonstrate a certain level of expertise. In some cases, a certified electrician may send an apprentice or journeyman to perform the work, but they must operate under a primary electrician who holds the proper license.

Before hiring, you should verify the electrician's license, insurance coverage, and any third-party certifications. You can use Angi’s contractor licensing search to confirm a pro's license status. Additionally, businesses with the “Angi Approved” badge on our platform meet strict criteria, including having the required state and local licenses, passing a background check, and maintaining a high average rating.

Charging your EV every night isn’t always necessary. Most EVs have sufficient range to cover daily commutes without needing a nightly charge, particularly if you have a Level 2 charger. Charging once every few days or as needed can prolong the battery’s lifespan.

Hire an electrician the same way you would an employee. Ask questions and look for a good fit. Streamline the process by using these questions to ask an electrician. It's also common to ask for a quote in writing. Don’t forget to provide all the project details to ensure there are no surprises or opportunities for added fees.

Having a Level 2 charger can increase your home value, especially as electric vehicles become more popular. Homebuyers who have EVs or are interested in getting one will appreciate the convenience of a ready-to-use charging station. The added value can vary based on location and buyer preferences.
