"I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Isack Berg who I hired through Angi for a home improvement project at my residence. The project, which began on November 13, 2024 has been plagued by numerous issues, including poor workmanship, failure to adhere to the contract, and multiple no-call, no-show instances. Despite paying $22,000 upfront and for materials, the contractor has failed to complete the work as agreed. Details of the Complaint: 1. Substandard Workmanship – Two licensed and bonded contractors have inspected the work and provided written statements detailing severe deficiencies. Additionally, I have over 200 pictures and multiple videos documenting the issues. 2. Breach of Contract – The contractor has repeatedly failed to meet agreed-upon deadlines, leaving my home in an incomplete and hazardous state, exposing it to interior damage and major inconveniences. Specific issues include: o Roof – Not completed per contract, leaving my home vulnerable to damage. o Windows Trim – The sill on the front window is rotten; I had to pay $450 out of pocket for repairs. o Mastercool Unit – The back house unit’s wires were cut to the control switch. o Lighting Issues – No lights installed in the spare bathroom or the great room. o Structural Issue – No permit was pulled for the 20-foot beam in the great room, which now requires review by a contractor and the city to ensure compliance. 3. Failure to Communicate and No-Show Instances – On multiple occasions, the contractor failed to appear as scheduled without providing notice or explanation. 4. Additional Expenses – Due to the contractor’s negligence, I have incurred additional costs, including hiring another contractor for emergency repairs and dedicating over 40 hours to cleaning and correcting some of the mistakes. Given the severity of these issues, I request that Angi take appropriate action, including investigating this contractor, removing them from the platform if warranted, and assisting me in resolving this matter. I have also contacted the contractor’s bond company and am considering legal action. I am attaching all relevant documentation, including: • Written statements from two licensed contractors • Photographic and video evidence of the subpar work • Records of payments and additional expenses incurred • A copy of the contract and related communications I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to your response. The project began on November 12, 2024, and was initially scheduled to be completed by December 24, 2024. However, the completion date was repeatedly pushed back—to December 28, then December 31, then January 10. After January 2, I had reached my limit with the poor workmanship and lack of concern for my home’s condition. The contractor’s worker was asked to leave, and I contacted Joe. He informed me he was in California and requested time to correct the situation. He assured me he would return and restart the work, but after repeated delays and unresponsive communication, he finally scheduled a walkthrough on January 20. Despite this, he failed to respond all week and only emailed on January 26, stating he would restart the work on January 27. On January 27, the contractor showed up for only six hours before leaving, stating he would return the next day. He never came back. Three days later, on the evening of January 30, he said he would return on Friday and Saturday. At that point, I told him not to bother. He has failed to address the issues related to poor workmanship and my requests to have basic utilities functioning, such as the second bathroom lights, the great room lighting, and my laundry room setup so I can use my washer and dryer. I have not been able to do laundry in my home for over three months. Even on January 27, when he did show up, he merely skim-coated parts of the walls and ceiling. This resulted in cracks because he repeatedly applied mud over bubbled seams instead of properly fixing the issue."

"If I could, I wouldn’t give them even one star. A terrible experience. The staff is extremely arrogant, and the customer service is seriously lacking. If you're looking for bad service, this is the perfect company. They take no responsibility for poorly done work, even though the contractors are part of their network. "We contracted Unique Designs LLC to replace 2053 square feet of old carpet with tile. Alan Pando, the owner, walked us through the tile selection process, in which direction the wood plank tile would be installed for best eye appeal, removal of the existing carpet, prepping the surface, and installing the tile. Alan set hours between 8 AM and 3 PM Monday through Friday. His crew was on time, never late, and promptly left at 3 PM. Laying tile involves geometry, particularly on curved walls, prepping the surface such that the end result is smooth as silk, and minimizing waste. The complexity level of tiling multiple rooms meant we had to work sequentially emptying one room then moving to another – this was accomplished flawlessly. The crew – Javier, Ulysses, Terry, and John – were respectful and highly enjoyable to have in the home. They helped move very heavy furniture and a weight machine, cut the tile outside, and didn’t break anything. And they worked at a breakneck pace. The job was completed in 10 days. Since our slab had some surface cracks and was uneven in places grinding and patching had to be done. They took care to contain the very fine concrete dust, masking off rooms with sheet plastic as needed. This is our second major project with Unique as they also installed a custom range hood and new tile backsplash in our kitchen with equally appealing results. The guys work with some music (set at a nice level) which somehow always seemed to match what we like also, a bonus over listening to floor grinding and saw work. They also watched the fort while we made a few appointments in town, another bonus that allows our daily life to move on with minimal disruption, key when one is living in the home as it is remodeled. The resulting surface is level, linear, and accurate with no high edges or jagged cuts. Tile spacers insured the outcome would be perfect and the grouting was on the money as well. Given the complexity of working around our lives and the scope of the work we could not be more pleased."
