"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

"This ended up being a 1-day effort by 4-5 men, led by Larry Means (brother of Charles, who did all the contact work).
They accomplished all of the above from 8:30 AM to about 4 PM including cleanup.
We were pleased that the hot water heater door could be repaired and not replaced - some estimates of replacement of this 24" door (vented) were above $1000.  It was Larry's thinking that made it possible - he has the mind of a handy man - do what can be done rather than grand plans that lift the costs.  Replacing of facia, some flashing and soffit went well - the painted results were great (we had painted 2 sides of the house before recognizing we were in over our heads - we provided the paint for the job as we had some already and the color would match).  Painting and caulking were of the highest order.
The mudded interior wall spot matched the existing texture - nice work.

"An estimator came out and gave us a quote Saturday morning for 7 windows facing west on our home. He offered multiple colors of screen. Something they suggested that other companies did not was different protection for the lower versus the bottom. We have windows upstairs that are not covered by a patio, these used the 90% screens. For the bottom windows that still face west but are slightly covered by the patio, they use a 80% to still let more light into the living area inside. I thought this was a great idea. Screens were installed while we were at work 3 days later, estimated completion time was 2 to 7 days based on the weather forecast for that week. I don't blame for not wanting to be on a roof during serve weather.
The cost was lower than the other 2 estimates I received. I never flt pressured by LSSS like other solar screen companies.
We will be doing the other side of the house next year and will go back to LSSS without question.

"We had 3 estimates done on replacing the siding on our 2-story chimney. It had been damaged by squirrels who had taken up residence (we had our exterminator come and clear out the nest and patch the holes, but the siding itself was damaged). Robert was the first one to respond, the first one to submit an estimate (it was submitted the day after the request was made...one of the other estimates didn't come in until almost a week later!), and provided us with an estimate that was significantly below the other two that came in. He was professional and understanding of our need for an accelerated timeline (the property standards "police" in our neighborhood are vigilant, and we didn't want a citation!), the crew was great, Robert's communication was top-notch, and we're VERY pleased with the experience from start to finish!"

"I dealt only with Blante from the very beginning. He came out and gave me the estimate, which I thought was very reasonable. He was punctual and very polite and knew what he was talking about. The contract was signed and we set up a start date. The weather played a factor in the job not starting on time, but Blante kept in touch with me letting me know when to expect the delivery of materials and when the job would begin. The materials and crew arrived on Monday morning and by time I got home around 3:30 the roof was 3/4 of the way completed. The job was completed by 7:30 that evening and the crew did a great job. They also cleaned up all of the debris and even cleaned out my gutters in case roofing material got in them. If I had to do this again, I would choose Woodlands Roofing Company to do it. Dealing with Blante was a pleasure. No surprises and professional work. I would recommend them to family and friends!!"

"Jeff provided quotes and delivered according to his word.  When he was late, he called in advance to let me know.  During the quote we walked the house together and Jeff explained the detail of what needed to be done and would be included in the quote. My house required quite a bit of trim board replacement as well as some siding repair/replacements.  Jeff did his best to estimate all the costs.  There were additional items that were discovered during the painting process and they were included at a minimal cost. The one thing I really appreciated about Jeff is he quoted 3 levels of paint and then told me he would go with the lowest level.  We had a short conversation about the difference and it was clear to me there were differences but I was able to make a decision what was best for me.  Another company who quoted the job uses the same paint products and essentially quoted the same 3 levels of service.  The sales person for that company (NOT Carnival) was pushing me to take the highest level (most expensive) without any discussion of the differences. It looked like rain on the scheduled start date and I expected Jeff to call and postpone.  There was no call and Jeff and the paint crew showed up on time.  Jeff explained they would start by prepping the house and making the trim repairs before painting and they would work as long as they could.  Most of the repair work was completed as well as the house powerwashed before the rain hit.  Jeff called early the next morning (it was still raining) and notified me the paint crew would not come due to the rain.  The third day (Friday) was a beautiful day and the paint crew was there first thing in the morning.  They finished repairs and began painting.  Early in the afternoon the paint crew supervisor let me know they would not finish on Friday but asked if they could finish on Saturday.  I was very happy not to wait until Monday and I give kudos to Carnival, Luis (supervisor), and the paint crew for their willingness to finish up on Saturday. The paint crew arrived around 10:00 on Saturday and finished around 2:00.  Luis was very open to any specific instructions or request I had and was responsive in taking care of those items.  Luis and I walked the house as the crew was finishing up and identified all the open items.  All open items were closed and everything cleaned up before the crew left. I was amazed at how quickly the crew worked.  They could easily have finished the job in two days if they weren't interrupted by rain. I'm very satisfied with everything about my experience with Carnival and will definitely call them for future needs.  The only additional advise I would provide is when you have a work crew that requires access to your backyard and your backyard has a pool, it is important to make the crew aware of the need to secure the gate when they are away from house for safety reason.  People who don't have pools aren't always aware of the issues."

"

The Rhino Energy Crew include some of the most professional, knowledgeable, and respectful folks ever to help us improve our home.  Not only was the price fair and the work done in a timely manner, they by far exceeded our expectations.  I can't wait to see the savings on our electric bill this summer. I would not hesitate to call them for other jobs at my home...they really can do it all.  The repair to my garage wall( where I hit it with my car) is better than the original tape/ bed/texture job.  I would definitely recommend Rhino Energy Solutions to my family and friends.

"I thought they did a very good job. The only complaint I had there were quite a few nails that were left behind in the street and the neighbor and I's driveway. The neighbor was more concerned than I was about the nails but I understand they couldn't get all the nails out. Other than that they were great and very professional. They knew what they were doing. They did a great job. They were friendly."

Siding questions, answered by experts

Hail as small as 3/4 inch (about the size of a penny) can cause damage to your siding. When hail reaches 1 inch in size, you can expect to see more cracks, chips, and holes, and hail that’s 1 and 1/4 to 1 and 1/2 inches around will cause significant damage. If you see hail that’s 1 and 1/2 inches to 2 inches or more in size, the damage is likely to be extensive and possibly even dangerous.

Fiber cement shingle siding is made from a blend of common ingredients, including cement, sand, water, and wood or cellulose fibers. The composition of the mixture varies depending on the manufacturer, however, with some makers opting to include special additives to improve longevity and resilience, and some include dyes and pigments to create custom colors that don’t require painting.

If you’re trying to decide whether clapboard siding is good, know that it’s a solid choice that many homeowners are happy with. It’s one of the more affordable siding options, making it budget-friendly without compromising on quality. Its versatility and cost-effectiveness make it a popular and practical choice for enhancing a home’s exterior.

When moisture infiltrates your siding, it can result in deterioration and decay of the sheathing, cause structural damage to your foundation, and provides an ideal breeding ground for mold. Mold growth can lead to various health-related problems, such as itchy eyes, sneezing, allergies, and asthma. Mold and dampness commonly attract a wide range of insects, so if your siding has taken any kind of water damage, it could invite some unwelcome guests.

No, you don’t need to use the same siding around the entire home. Using different siding for different walls can actually increase the soft value of your home. Many homeowners opt to add vinyl siding on the sides of their home not facing the street, opting for higher-end siding materials like stone or wood for the front of the house. Stone veneer siding can be a cost-effective option for homeowners who like the appearance of stone, but not the cost.
