"Robby did an awesome job for me and even did a couple of small projects without charging me any extra fees! He put in a culvert and driveway, moved my gate, and rebuilt my fence. He is a very nice man, very professional, communicated well with me about the job and he even went the extra mile by calling TXDOT out to my property when their requirements were not possible to meet to show them and he got them to adjust the requirements so that the job would be approved by TXDOT. But no ground cover is completely weed-proof. To further prevent weeds, you can try spraying your decomposed granite with distilled white vinegar.

If you choose to leave gaps between your pavers, you can grow some ground cover plants between them for an organic feel. Look for plants such as creeping thyme, dymondia, jewel mint of Corsica, or clover.

A scattering of leaves won’t pose a problem through the winter, but a thicker layer of leaves may not decompose before the first frost and can instead weigh down your grass and harbor mold or fungi. A thick layer of leaves also cuts off light and air that grass needs to grow. That’s why we suggest removing thick leaf layers within several days if possible.
