Addition to Existing Structure Building Service
We chose John of CBR Builders to finish our new build. We were living out of state, which was quite the complicated process. We loved customizing our new home and John was quite accommodating. He has some extremely skilled tradesmen including the finish carpenters (Miguel), the tile crew (Daniel and Jr) and the painters (Kevin and Dave). After an extensive process, we love our home. John is your guy!

First class all the way. John and the whole crew at CBR is by far the best home builder and remodeling company I have ever worked with. I have built or remodeled 7 personal homes over the years and none have ever delivered like these guys do. On budget, efficiency, on time and met or exceeded every aspect of the build. A true dream to work with from start to finish. I was so pleased with the build quality, cost and overall experience that I have since contracted CBR to build a 2000 square foot detached garage with living quarters above. A art studio for my wife. Several other structures around the ranch, all with the same quality and pleasant experience as the first. If you’re looking to build custom from scratch. Addition or remodel. Look no further. CBR will blow you and the competition away. A big thanks to John and the whole CBR crew for making my dreams come true.

Addition to Existing Structure Building Service
We hired CBR to renovate our house, and also add on about 1000sf to our home. The work was so nicely (and timely) done, that we have since used them for several other projects. You would never even know that our house has an addition. It looks to be an original part of the house. John is attentive and responsive to his clients and truly goes above and beyond to hear what you want out of your project. He has decades of experience and it shows! I canâ t recommend this company enough!

Addition to Existing Structure Building Service
The owner is a great salesperson but much of the sales pitch is not true or he does not follow through. He claims to have his own crews for all components of the remodel - he does not. He subbed many, not all, of the components of the job. Materials used are the bare minimum related to quality and in my opinion are cheap and sub standard. He does not manage and inspect the work appropriately. He depends on someone else, which is not effective. I found myself doing the inspecting and having to deal with the subs. Example - before drywall was installed, I was left with the responsibility of correcting framing issues. If I had not corrected, they would have been covered and hidden. There were multiple issues with our project and some were corrected and some were not. If you are going to use CBR builders, be sure and get an independent inspector to make sure he is doing his job. We live out in a county without code enforcement and we had some independent inspections but not for the whole project which was a mistake. We were compensated for some of the cost and time but no compensation for the day to day stress of worrying about and dealing with the issues.

Stay away from this guy. He has a terrible time telling the truth, and his job times are not even close to what he promises. He promises things to you for his mistakes and then does not provide them; he is just not pleasant to do business with at all. John Stollard is the owners name. I would not recommend him building a doghouse. Oh, and John, when you read this review, will you please pay for the garage doors that you installed and then removed from my garage and for which I keep getting bills? You remember, the ones you told me you took care of three times now over the past year and a half. I just received another invoice for your failure to pay for them again. You have been paid in full since I settled for your job completion, which I had to beg you to finish. ****Update to my review**** John you're still lying. I'm not the contractor, you are. I never ordered either set of doors that you can't seem to pay for. We never discussed changing any doors. Please stop lying and pay your bills. I have paid you in full for a job I had to beg you to finish...over a year and a half ago. You can say what you want, but you, I, and the overhead door company know the truth. I hope you can learn from this and treat folks better moving forward.

"I am very sorry this has been such a negative experience for you Brent. It is always our goal and commitment to deliver stellar service, workmanship, and RESULTS for our clients. I think that even shows in our other reviews. Misunderstandings do happen, and importantly, I am going to say that this review falls on the unfair side. We did mutually allow for an overhead door company to come in and provide a quote for the doors. It worked out though that this company did not have the same style/design as your existing garage, and Brent, it was your decision to order different doors anyway. I had committed to installing overhead doors that would match and I will point out that I delivered on that. That did however leave us with an extra set of doors that were not going to be used at your home. Overhead doors are not easily interchangeable between homes but I have been diligently working to get those doors to different homes, and in turn, keep your unnecessary expense to a minimum. I am even still working at it and I hope we can come to an amiable conclusion together."

John did an outstanding job from start to finish on the design and construction of our pool house. Our HOA is very picky and the house matches our home perfectly. Custom Building and Remodeling is a very good and reliable company. They exceeded my expectations in every way. They were flexible with my changes, very fair in their pricing and quick to get the job started and finished. The owner always stopped by to check on the progress and was always available by phone to answer all my questions and concerns. I had to have this detached garage match my house and John went the extra mile to find matching brick and shingles. I cannot recommend CBR (owner John Stallard). Multiple failed inspections and lack of attention to detail as well as an extremely slow pace of work were the main issues. What was promised (verbally) to be completed in 60 days, took over 5 months. On top of that were the little surprises that they expected me to furnish electrical fixtures, door knobs etc. They even wanted me to pay for one of the extra inspections. My garage door does not have a button on the inside to open it. There is still an air gap under the back door going to the outside. My yard is full of chunks of concrete and brick. The roof is wavy and still has a visible height difference where it joins the existing roof. These are just a few of the issues. I suspected I was in trouble when I could never get a copy of the contract that was signed by the owner John Stallard.
