I drove to the office of Milton Frank Plumbing to order this job in person in order to make sure that the plumber who responded to our house had the right equipment to perform our job. Specifically, I advised that the responding plumber would need an extension for the standard 100 foot long snake that the plumbers typically carry on their trucks. The reason for this was that the clogs that have occurred in our sewer line in the past have typically been located between 105 - 110 feet down the sewer line and the standard 100 foot line is insufficient to reach this area. I say this as someone who has experienced numerous clogged sewer lines after living in this house for 24 years and knows where the problem areas are located. I advised the office staff not to send a plumber to our house without the snake extension.
The plumber arrived at our house at which time I asked him if he brought the extension for the snake as I had requested. He advised that he did NOT bring the extension. I advised him that he was wasting our time at which time he advised me that he could call for another truck to bring a snake extension to us. He further advised that he would start the job because there was a very good chance that the extension would not be necessary.
The plumber ran the snake down the main line and was unable to clear the drain. He then advised me that the snake was inside our septic tank, and that any further attempts would risk breaking the snake. I knew that this was not true because a 100 foot long snake is incapable of reaching our septic tank. I requested that the plumber continue to try to clear the drain. The plumber advised me that he could not risk breaking the snake because he would have to pay for it if it broke. The plumber then contacted his supervisor by cell phone. I personally spoke to the supervisor and advised him that a plumber could break a cable anytime they cleared a drain and that this was not a valid excuse to walk away from a job. I guess the supervisor agreed, because he actually drove to our home to investigate the situation. So now we had the original plumber, the second plumber who delivered the snake extension, and the supervisor, all deliberating whether or not they could risk breaking a snake cable to clear our drain. The supervisor then correctly determined that the snake was NOT inside the septic tank, and ordered the plumbers to attach the extension snake to the 100-foot snake and to continue snaking the drain. The plumbers attached the extension, ran it down the drain, hit the clog right where it always has been, between 105 -110 feet away, and cleared the drain.
Milton Frank Plumbing was ready and willing to leave our house without clearing our sewer line because they were worried about damaging an easily replaceable snake line. It took the intervention of a supervisor to prevent this. It turned out that there was no risk to their equipment whatsoever. It is absolutely astonishing that this company would ignore my very specific instructions, even after I walked into their place of business and explained the history of our drain problem to them in terms that a 5-year old could understand.
Called in on April 19th in the morning, they had a guy to my house in the afternoon, ontime. Manuel did a great job, very professional, Pumped all three tanks, operated very efficient and cleaned up. This is the second time I have used Abracadabra septic pumping, very pleased both times.

They did a good job. They put in very high quality hot water tanks. It was leaking and they came out the same day. It was very unusual and we didn't expect that. The quality of their work was very good. They put in green hot water tanks which were the top line hot water tanks. They gave...

Our conventional septic system was installed in 1978. It was poorly designed, constructed with inferior piping, and contained two 90-degree turns near the end of the run. It had a single cleanout, located at the opposite side of the house almost 120 feet from the tank. This system was...

"recently called John Moore Services for what should have been a simple plumbing issue — a clogged bathroom sink connected to my air conditioner drain line. I reached out after seeing their TV commercial promoting clogged sink service for “about $69.” What I quickly discovered is that this advertised rate applies to an extremely narrow and unadvertised category of sinks that almost no real-world situation meets. My straightforward, less-than-20-minute fix was quoted at over $600 to snake. This is an outrageous markup for such a basic job. As a former small business owner, I find these tactics troubling. This is a textbook example of bait-and-switch advertising — grabbing attention with a low price, then upselling with inflated charges once the customer is committed. Practices like this harm consumers and tarnish the reputation of the many honest, hardworking service providers in our community. Shame on you, John Moore Services. My strong recommendation: Do Not Use."

"At first the company seemed super helpful. Eric was always pleasant and seemed to be supporting us. HOWEVER, they told us that they were dealing directly with insurance and that we wouldn't need to worry about anything. Therefore no costs, no options, no explanations of services were ever given to us. When the bill came back higher than insurance would cover they assured us that Joyce was the best in the business and would get it taken care of for us. the gap ended up being $3000 out of our pocket and as far as I can tell, no genuine effort was made to come to an agreement because we would have to pay it anyway. They were not actually working for us. In addition, the whole process was frustrating because appointments were made with us, where we canceled plans and they never showed or called. They removed equipment before it was dry and then covered themselves by putting it back in. At the end of the day our house is dry as is our bank account. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!"

FAQs for septic tank service projects in The Woodlands, TX
The cost to replace a septic tank is $7,350 for the average homeowner. This cost can range, however, from $470 to $22,500, depending on several factors. Your house size is a significant factor in the overall cost, but other things like material type impact the final price tag. For example, installing a new septic tank in a one-bedroom house typically costs $500 to $900, whereas installing a new septic tank in a five or six-bedroom home is generally $1,200 to $1,600.
Yes, most states require septic tank installers to have a license, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed septic tank pro could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
The cost of septic tank repair is $1,775 for the average homeowner. However, depending on a few elements, you might pay as little as $170 or as much as $6,100. Location, repair type, and tank material all determine the final cost. For example, replacing the septic tank filter can be as little as $200 to $300. However, repairing septic lines costs more, averaging around $1,500.
A septic tank can typically last 15 to 20 years on average, though your system's lifespan will vary depending on the type of septic system and the materials used. To help increase your septic tank's lifespan, schedule routine maintenance and do not flush items like cat litter, cigarette butts, or paper towels.
Repairing or replacing a septic tank is a job best left to a professional. Your septic tank is an essential part of your home, and if installed or repaired incorrectly, it could lead to significant problems. Things like polluted water, property damage, and health risks to your family could all happen as a result of an improper septic tank repair or installation.
