"The entire move went smoothly. The moving guys were actually early. Which was much appreciated. They loaded everything in an hour. They arrived on time to the moving destination. The guys were very nice. Very professional. I would recommend Chapperal again. They were excellent movers."

"All Service Moving was exceptional. Great customer service - easy to schedule and flexible. Royce & Frost did an AMAZING job moving all of our very heavy and fragile belongings. They handled all of our requests and items with care and worked both efficiently and quickly. They were super friendly and very customer service oriented. I can't thank them enough for the GREAT job they did. I highly recommend All Service Moving for anything moving and/or storage related. And DEFINITELY request Royce & Frost to handle your job. Thank You!"

"I have moved both locally and out of state many times and this was hands down the BEST experience Iâ ve ever had. The 3 guys moving us were friendly, organized and treated out stuff with care. They moved us quickly and efficiently and it was such a breeze. Not to mention the price was hundreds of dollars cheaper than other quotes we got. HIGHLY recommend!"

"Two movers came and did a great job moving my mom's furniture. They were very friendly and professional. Only reason I left 4 star was that one of the movers was having a hard time due to bilateral knee pain and that put a lot of responsibility and increased the time it took to move."

"Vicente and his crew did a great job moving us twice. Both were locals moves. I will also hire them for any future moving needs. They're punctual, responsive to my requests, and they handled items with care so that nothing was broken. Fair prices, too. Definitely a local business worth hiring. I recommend them!"

Moving questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can take your potted plants with you when you move if you use sterilized potting soil. However, some states have strict guidelines about this practice, so it’s best to consult the Department of Agriculture’s regulations surrounding pest control and plant types ahead of your move.

Renting a moving truck is often the cheapest way to move long-distance, with costs ranging from $1,000 to $2,100. For smaller moves with fewer items, a moving container can cost as little as $700. As the distance of your move increases, using moving pods or containers can become more cost-effective because you can ship them to your destination and avoid transportation costs like gas, mileage, and lodging.

The most expensive part of moving is hiring professional movers. However, hiring a pro is more efficient and less stressful, so many people find the cost worth it. You’ll also spend a lot of money on packing supplies, including boxes, tape, and bubble wrap, so ask around to see if any friends or family members have old supplies you can use for free.

When loading a moving truck, the general rule is to load the heaviest and largest items first to create a stable base at the front of the truck, which helps balance the weight. You can start with large furniture like sofas, beds, mattresses, and tables to form a solid foundation, or begin by placing your heaviest boxes against the truck's walls to create a base layer. After the base is set, continue loading other large items like appliances and square furniture. Lighter and smaller objects, including most of your boxes, should be loaded last. They can be packed into gaps, around, and on top of the heavier items to maximize space. Following this order makes unloading easier and helps prevent damage to your belongings.

The average cost to hire professionals to move a gun safe ranges between $200 to $525. The cost varies significantly depending on the safe’s size, weight, and location. However, the total bill can increase if it is a large safe and a complex move. Consult a local moving company that specializes in safe moving to determine the estimated cost of this service.
