"Very professional. Concerned only about quality of the job. Actually repaired a chip on the granite, which previous services would not even attempt. Service and results are best-of-the-best."

"These guys are absolutely incredible. Weâ re in Austin and they drove out here to install the counters for the kitchen and bathrooms. The marble slab we ordered arrived with a corner broken, thatâ s how it is with marble, super fragile no matter how careful you are. My wife and I have been renovating homes for a long time but we have never been so impressed with a company like these guys. Javier asked if he could try to fix it, but offered to work with us on replacement if it wasnâ t to our satisfaction. I was very skeptical on how well the repair would turn out, but since they were here and it was a long drive back to Houston, I agreed to letting him try. I was blown away, you couldnâ t even tell, literally invisible. Even more importantly, happy wife! So impressed. Excellent customer service, very skilled installers, very competitive pricing, and just nice people. Fully recommend."

Small jobs welcome

"J.A.Z. was one of the many contractors that I received quotes from and his seemed fair compared to others that wanted to replace my entire floor due to a tile problem. Anthony told me that he could repair it. Taking a chance to save 1,000’s, I took the gamble. The result is outstanding and cleanup was spotless. My wife is thrilled with the results and we both highly recommend J.A.Z. Grout Restorers. Outstanding work at a fair pice."

"Met with owner Mr. Albert Halfon, owner of the company Floors Galore by Halfon.   He came to the home I had purchased in an Auction to see these hideous wood floors that need to be restored.  It was a big job, and his crew did a fantastic job.  I wish I could post before and after pictures so you can see the quality of service.   I did interview other floor companies to get quotes but I chose his company not on price, but on professionalism and a guarantee of his service.  You come to my home in a crappy  mood, or act fishy to me, I do not hire you.  Albert Halfon, was not only professional, but a kind person who earned my trust.  I will use his company again in the future.  Thank you Albert.

Marble Restoration questions, answered by experts

No, you should not put a hot pan or pot directly on a quartz countertop. While quartz is generally heat-resistant, the resin binders used in its manufacturing are sensitive to extreme heat. Placing a hot pan on the surface can damage the resin, leading to discoloration or other cosmetic issues. If the heat exceeds 150 degrees Fahrenheit, it can cause permanent damage, such as burns or even cracking. To protect your countertop, always use trivets or hot pads.

Beyond landscaping, limestone has multiple uses. For example, there are multiple pros and cons to limestone countertops, such as a lower cost compared to other types of stone and heat resistance. Limestone is also a key ingredient in limewash, a type of paint with a chalky texture. Other uses for limestone include siding, retaining walls, and mixed into cement.

The cost to repair a stone countertop typically ranges from $200 to $800. The final price depends on several factors, including the type and severity of the damage, the type of stone, and labor costs. Minor issues like small cracks, chips, or scratches are on the lower end of the cost spectrum, while more significant damage that requires resurfacing, refinishing, resealing, or custom color matching will be more expensive.

Using water when cutting stone drastically reduces the amount of dust that comes off the stone. It’s beneficial to cut down on the amount of dust for respiratory and other safety reasons, such as keeping your vision clear while using an electric tool. Even with protective eyewear, the dust can still cloud your safety glasses. You should always wear protective gear when cutting stone.

Engineered stone is nonporous, unlike natural stone, and does not need to be sealed. You do not have to worry about etching or bacterial growth. It is more durable than natural stone and concrete, as well as highly heat resistant. Engineered stone is easy to clean and maintain. You can wipe it down with warm water and soap. Use a non-scratch scrub pad for stains and avoid any harsh cleaners. Engineered stone can even be eco-friendly, with some manufacturers using waste byproducts or organic resins.
