"In terms of quality, the without k was superb. We enlosed part of the garage and created an additional room to the house. The final product blended with the house as it is as originally built that way. To be more specific, Blake properly rasaised (floated) the garage floor to the same level of the house. Tight spqcing 2x4 was placed, nailed and plywood was then placed glued and nailed. There were no errors, rattling sound - just solid properly built floor. The same goes for the wall. Sound construction of studs and dry wall. The paint job wrapp d all of that bl nding perfectly with the rest of the house; truly as if it were built with with the original house. In terms of pricing. Blake was very reasonable. Money was not the motivator; the quality and good outcome was his main driver. He kept telling me "if you're happy, I am happy!" And I was very pleased with the work. Frankly, I would have paid more. But the trick is that I will be calling him back many tim s to come. In terms of timing, Blake was quick. The whole job took a week. He was 8:00 AM at my door step every day. The guy m ans business and he is seriuos about it."

"I reached out to multiple contractors to evaluate and propose a solution for a complex structural problem related to my garage. Specifically, a main structural beam on my covered patio was not properly secured to the structure of the garage. Poor workmanship by a previous contractor had led to leaks in the roof above the beam resulting in rot of the wood framing underneath which eventually led to the failure of the connection between the beam and the framing members in the garage. The beam dropped several inches and damaged the siding and trim on the garage. I called Kephart Handyman after reading their reviews on Angie's List. Barry promptly replied to my inquiry and came to my home to evaluate the problem. After taking some pictures he came back to me quickly with a proposal. There was some uncertainty on what would actually need to be done depending on what his team found when they removed some of the damaged wood. In the end, Barry's team removed and replaced all of the damaged structural framing, roof decking and shingles and added a new support column for the beam. They wrapped the beam to match others on our patio. The quality of their workmanship was very good and the team cleaned up as they did their work. In the end, the job took five days instead of the quoted three days and involved unplanned removal and repair of drywall inside the garage. Barry stood by his estimate and did not charge extra for the added time it took to make the repairs. Overall, I was very satisfied with their work and their ability to find a solution to this complex repair. After finding his contact information on Angie's List and checking out his website, I contacted Mr. Westbrook by email on a Sunday afternoon and got a call from him the same day.  We agreed that he would stop by my home to discuss a Master Suite addition the following Thursday evening, which was the first time I was available. 

I am a former custom home builder and had a good idea about what I wanted, but I was looking for someone who had both the design and building skills to complete the project to my demanding standards.  When Mr. Westbrook arrived precisely on time in the pouring rain, I quickly realized that he knew exactly what he was talking about and his personality was perfect for the job.  Within about 5 minutes, Mr. Westbrook became Wally and I felt as if I had known him for years.

Several times over the next few days, we exchanged sketches of the proposed project and I was extremely pleased with the results.  With just a builder's sketch of my existing floor plan, dimensions from an appraisal and a few photographs that Wally took during our initial meeting, he was quickly able to create a 3 dimensional plan and elevation of my existing home which he used to design the new addition.

The scope of work included a major expansion of the covered porch and Master Bedroom, adding an adjacent 15' X 15' sitting room and adding a new pool bath.  Within just a few days, Wally submitted the preliminary design which was exactly what I had envisioned.  His plan matched the current design perfectly, and complemented the existing roof plan very well--which proved his expertise in both design and construction.   

After integrating a few ideas that I had provided and making some revisions that he had suggested, Wally prepared the final plans and elevations for the HOA and permit review.  From the first visit to the final review, it was obvious to me that Wally had the necessary skill set and commitment to do the job well and to meet my specific expectations.   It is rare to find someone these days who is so committed to his work, but Wally exceeded even my expectations. Overall, it was a real pleasure to do business with him, and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone who is considering a major addition to their home.

"Mark Gonzalez did a wonderful job on our daughter’s house. We called him and he came out and gave us a quote. Scheduling was an issue and we chose to wait for him to be available. We are glad we did. He did what he agreed to do and then some. An example is in order. The task was to repair sheetrock in several areas throughout the house. Those areas were enumerated and discussed. During the course of the job, he saw other areas that needed repair and fixed those too. He did not make a big deal of it. He just did it. He is also an artist. For example, we were supposed to provide the paint. He requested that he be allowed to get the paint which was great for us. He took samples and went to Sherwin Williams. When he got back with the matched paint, he was not satisfied (looked good to us). He took the paint back and had it redone. To us, it looked good the first time and perfect the second time. His rates are extremely reasonable and does a superb job. Scheduling may be an issue so we suggest to allow sufficient time for him to get to your project. You will be really glad you did."
