"I hired John Moore for a two-fold problem I was having. I needed a fogging treatment for mosquitoes and gnats and I also had pest control done for crawling insects. From past experience with flying insects another treatment is necessary and has been scheduled. So far the situation is improved and will hopefully be gone after another treatment."

"Ninja examined the house very thoroughly, roof, walls, and attic, and explained clearly all the items needing attention. After we accepted the proposal, they implemented their recommendations promptly and with good quality. On the next day they also promptly removed a trapped animal. We are very happy with Ninja's help."

"I want to brag on Lawrence Ross. He so honest and his integrity is unmeasurable. He investigated to find out what was the problem and took photos of my attic. Afterwards Lawrence sat down with me and informed me that I didn’t have the pest problem that 4 other Pest Control Companies said I had! Those Companies were trying to Scam me maybe because I am a woman or because I am 75 years old! The price to take care of my nonexistent pest problem ranged from $4000 up to $19000!! If you need honest help PLEASE call Laws of Nature Pest Control and ask for Lawrence! He is an Honest Young Man! Ms. Dianne D."

"The company was very professional. They sealed my house all the way around and put traps in me attics to ensure nothing was in there for 10 days and Thank goodness it was clear."

"First I want to say that I initially called 911 Wildlife as they were recommended by my exterminator that comes for insects. They had a lot of good reviews on Angie’s list and on the Internet. The inspector came and went into my attic and said he didn’t really know what I had but it was probably rats. He said it be about $450 to set attic traps for “probably rats”, and that they would come back and check the traps. I thought that was an awful lot of money, Especially considering he didn’t even know what I really had. I was disappointed in that, plus he didn’t really go around the house and show me where there were entry points that needed to be resolved. After that, based on a lot of good reviews on Angie’s list, I called McGrath Pest Control. They came out and George was my rep. He looked around the house and found several points of entry, including one where there was a huge hole in the facia. He said they would repair the holes and block possible entry points and set traps in the attic. He said he knew it was rats because he could see their droppings and nesting areas. We set an appointment and George came did what I would call nice temporary repairs, because I will have to get more work done on the facia. In any case the repairs are not noticeable. They have already come back once to check the traps. All this was only $360 so I think I got a great deal more value for my money. The company is professional and nice to deal with. I would recommend them to anyone."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Water bugs won’t actively chase you, but they earned the nickname “toe-biters” for good reason. Water bugs are highly defensive. They typically rest an inch or so below water, waiting for prey. But if they feel threatened by a human that gets close, they may inject the person with a harmless venom from their legs, which may feel like a bite.

Bed bugs bite your body to feed on blood. When they bite, they inject an anticoagulant, which is why you may see blood stains on your sheets if you have an infestation. The bed bugs tend to bite in clusters, so the bite marks will look like itchy, red spots in zigzagging lines of three to five bites per cluster on your skin.

The bites are itchy, but for most people, they do not cause serious or long-term health complications. Itching the wound excessively could lead to an infection, and some people are allergic to bed bugs.

Groundhogs have a strong aversion to powerful scents, including garlic, ammonia, vinegar, hot peppers like cayenne, and predator urine. Various herbs such as rosemary, lavender, basil, mint, sage, thyme, and oregano can also act as deterrents. You can strategically use these odors around your property by planting these crops near your garden and by the entrances to groundhog burrows. Commercially available repellents offer another option, and for best results, scent-based deterrents should be used alongside other preventive measures.

Gnats may eventually go away on their own, but it depends on the source of their attraction. If the environment that’s attracting them—such as overwatered plants, moist areas, or food debris—isn't addressed, they can persist or even increase in numbers. Reducing moisture, improving drainage, and cleaning up organic matter can help eliminate them. Without these changes, gnats are likely to stick around and continue breeding, making it important to remove their breeding grounds to get rid of them for good.

Some plants that are toxic to animals or insects are also toxic to people. Daffodils, for example, are considered poisonous to humans (although they are rarely fatal). Most of the other plants listed above, however, are safe (and delicious!) for humans to eat, including basil, rosemary, and lemongrass.
