"Lone Star did a great job on installing new water faucets outside.  Price was good, they were very professional. However, I gave them a C rating because I called for an estimate on another job.  They came out and were going to email me the estimate.  After almost a week, I called and was told they hadn't gotten to it yet.  I have never heard from them.  I wasted time waiting for their bid, thinking that if it was reasonable, I would go with them since hey did a good job on the faucets.  I will not call them again for anything. "

"When I ordered a heat pump and air handler I was under the impression that they would be a matching system. When they delivered the air handler I asked if this was an Elite and was told yes. What I received was an Elite heat pump and a lower model Merit air handler. I spoke to the sales manager and he said that he only promised an Elite heat pump not a matching system and was becoming irate when I said what I expected was a matching system. It was over 98 degrees and we were without air conditioning for 3 days so I stopped questioning what he told me, as the air handler was already installed, and they finished the job. This is an expensive proposition, and when you don't have expertise in an area, you trust experts to be honest and straight with you."

"I had a good experience with them. The shut-off valve drove the cost up. It probably ended up being about $500 but I added a shut-off valve that was not part of the problem. He was friendly and honest, I believe. I think the cost was fair. It was a fair amount of money but it was a lot of work too."

"Very prompt response to request for quote. Quote was reasonable. Started work immediately by hand digging a trench from the street to the house. Approximately 75 ft under a sidewalk and around sprinkler system. Took some work but there was damage to anything. Replaced line, got city approval, covered trench. All in all a great job. Very pleased with their service.

"Jonathan did an excellent job.  I appreciated him walking through the installation and explaining how the plumbing in my house currently worked (we have an older house built in 1991), and the faucet was going to be installed.  I was working from home during the installation and Jonathan was very courteous and patient while I was on work calls.  We found Mark Masters Service Company on Angie's List, and based on this experience I would definitely go back to Mark Masters for additional services in the future."

"This went well. This company is very professional and very well cordinated also has good communication skills. I scheduled my appointment over the phone 2 weeks ago. A day before coming the receptionist called me to remind me that they were coming the next day. And the next day on their way over they called me telling me they were 30 minutes away. I could already tell that this company was going to be good by their professionalism. Also the receptionist was very caring and polite. They came on time and put on boot covers before entering the home. They started cleaning the ducts. While they were cleaning they told me that they would do a full system diagnosis. Upon the diagnosis they found some kind of fungal growth in our system. They also found that we had some air leaks in the system and that our coils and plenums were also filthy. Also our dryer vent was full of lint. Well the 149.99 was only for the basic cleaning of the ducts and dust in the system. All the additional services found were going to be an additional $650.00. They were not pushy in trying to sell me the job but told me that It should be taken care of for health reasons and a possible fire hazard from the dryer vent. I could understand that it would cost more because it would take an extra 3 hours to fix. Well I decided to do it. They finished the work cleaned up after themselves. My homes smell great. They did not just tell me I have these problems they should it to me. They also should me after the work was done. I really liked these guys they are honest and know what their doing. I did some research online and found out that the process they did made my system run more efficiently. I am satisfied. 30 minutes after they fiinshed the receptionist called asking how was the service. That is professional.

"If you have a leaky basement or are thinking about building a new house with a basement, don’t even consider using anyone except Willie and The Basement Kings. We rebuilt a lake house in 2012 that was destroyed in a wildfire, and the walkout basement flooded every spring. The builder spent thousands of dollars trying to fix it, but it flooded eight times in five years. I found The Basement Kings on Angie’s List, and Willie met me at the lake house the next day. He thoroughly inspected the basement and told me exactly what the problems were and how to fix them. Willie has an impeccable work ethic. He and his crew finished their work today. We have a lifetime guarantee that the basement will stay dry. He took photos of the work every day and texted them to my husband. It was hard, tedious, dirty work, but Willie takes pride in doing the job right, and his price was fair for the amount of work and materials involved. This guy eats, sleeps and dreams about basements. SO glad we hired him. You will be too!"

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

To test for toilet leaks, use water coloring in the water tank and see if the water slips into the bowl from the tank. This test will indicate if there’s a problem with the flapper or refill tube. You can also put water coloring in the bowl of the toilet to see if there is a leak there. If there is, you should see the colored water on the outside of the toilet bowl or on the floor.

Yes, it’s possible to install a sewage ejector pump outside rather than in a basement. However, there may be some extra steps involved, including running pipes from the inside to the outside of your home and digging (and re-filling) a hole for the basin. If you aren’t comfortable with this type of work, contact a plumbing pro to handle it for you.

Sump pumps prevent basement flooding, reduce humidity, and protect against water damage.

Yes, many modern water pumps are designed with energy efficiency in mind. Look for pumps with high efficiency ratings or those with an Energy Star certification. These pumps consume less power and can reduce your utility bills. Additionally, variable-speed pumps are more efficient since they can adjust the flow based on demand, providing significant savings over time.

3/4 HP is stronger than 1/2 HP. Horsepower measures how much weight can be moved and how fast, or the power needed to move 550 pounds one foot in one second. 1 HP equals 550 foot-pounds per second, so the higher the horsepower, the heavier the load it can lift. While 1/2 HP is a standard, powerful option, 3/4 HP has the extra strength to handle heavier, larger doors with ease.
