"We found M.C. Fence & Deck through home adviser. When Ms. Cherry came to our home to discuss our fence for our dog, she was gracious, knowledgeable and extremely professional. When her partner and his crew came out to install our fence it was a very nice experience to see a crew working very professionally, taking care not to leave any debris or disturb any part of our yard other than where the fence line was being installed. They worked quickly, efficiently and cleaned up before they left everyday. Our fence came out absolutely the way we wanted it. They went the extra mile to even cover several gaps that were along an existing fence to protect our dog from getting out or any critter from getting in. Everyone was friendly, respectful and professional. I would recommend this young Company to everyone that needs their services. The experience was flawless. My husband and I give them 10 stars. They truly deserve it!"

I am 22 years old working full time and trying to get a business started on the side. Even though I am young I have lots of experience. I enjoy working I started painting with my family at 5 years old stuck with that for a while. Then went to another company and got more experience in a different trade. I am willing to travel my goal next year is to be near Dallas but will travel back and fourth still. If you need anything done don’t hesitate to reach out and we can meet, make a plan, agree on a price, and get it taken care of for you:) thank you for looking have a great day.

"Munoz Texas Fences built and installed a new fence gate and 3 metal posts. During that time I asked if they had some time to do front landscaping and they did so immediately the next day. Per my request, they built custom black window shutters, a rock wall for flower beds, put down soil and black mulch. They were very friendly and did an excellent job."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Who pays for a new fence between neighbors depends on its location relative to the property line. If you build the fence entirely on your property, you are solely responsible for the costs of installation, maintenance, and repair. If the fence is built directly on the property line, both neighbors are typically responsible for the costs. In this case, it is essential to consult with your neighbor beforehand to agree on a plan for payment. While you should always inform your neighbor of your plans in advance, you generally cannot force them to contribute financially unless there are specific local laws, such as in California, where both parties might be responsible for costs unless a different agreement exists. It's a good idea to get a property line survey to know the exact boundaries before building.

A horizontal fence is typically more expensive to build than a vertical fence, often costing between 10% and 20% more. The higher cost is due to the need for a higher grade of lumber and more posts to prevent the boards from sagging, which increases both material and labor expenses. Despite the higher price, horizontal fences tend to be more durable and offer a more distinct, modern look compared to the more common vertical picket style. However, they may not be the best option for privacy, as there can be slight gaps between the horizontal rails.

The best wood for fence posts are redwood, cedar, and pressure-treated pine. Wood posts made from these materials will typically lasts between 15 and 30 years, depending on the specific type you choose and your local climate. With proper care and maintenance, a fence post made of these materials can withstand most weather conditions.

Rust, bent or broken bars, loose posts, and weakened welds are common problems that require repair to maintain security and appearance.

DIY is feasible with the proper tools and manual labor, though experienced installers ensure durability and precise alignment.
