"Louis has been our go to handyman for years and I wouldn't even think of hiring anyone else. He can install or repair almost anything and is very knowledgeable in many areas of construction. Over the years he has repaired drywall, installed ceiling fans and light fixtures, repaired a wooden gate and installed a much better latch, installed baseboard and put up heavy duty shelves in our garage. He is always prompt and responsive, but most of all just a wonderful human being. Always friendly and not being done with the job until you are totally satisfied. Call Louis...you will be glad you did!"

Small jobs welcome

"The handyman didnt get to finish all I wanted and didn't have more time. He said he didn't expect to give any more time because I had a Groupon and he said folks with groupons never want more than what they purchased. I didn't care for his attitude. He installed the fan but didn't have time to touch up the paint so I was left with two color of paint (from the previous light fixture) showing."

"Luis and his team responded to my quote inquiry very quickly. They showed up on the same day to perform the work, which was installing three pre-hung doors. The work was high quality. They wore PPEs the whole time and were professional in nature."

"Extremely responsive and attentive. Worked really quickly and was able to remove popcorn ceilings, install new patio ceiling and crown moulding in less than a week. Very reasonable pricing and high quality of work with acute attention to detail. Also receptive to feedback and addressed all concerns immediately. Would highly recommend!"

I have been doing construction projects for 25 years, from constructing homes, apartments, sheds and barns from the ground up, to room remodels. I also trap wildlife and do home seal ups to keep the critters out, which I have been doing for 12 years. This includes anything as small as rats and bats to coyotes and hogs. Snakes are also no problem. You can depend on us to provide a high quality service at a fair and honest price. We understand that the future of our business depends upon our reputation and that is why customer service is by far our highest priority. If you are looking for a professional you can trust, please call today to schedule a no-obligation estimate!

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Call 911 immediately. If you have a fire extinguisher or fire blanket near the laundry room, you can attempt to extinguish the fire, but don’t open or touch the dryer. If you can’t put the fire out, evacuate yourself, your family, and your pets from the house, closing the laundry room door behind you. Turn off the electricity to your home via the outside fuse box, then wait for the fire department. After a dryer fire, have your home’s electrical system inspected to make sure there isn’t any damage.

Most homeowners put a layer of compact sand or gravel at the bottom of their firepit, but you can also choose more decorative options like fire-resistant paving stones, bricks, or fire pit glass. Dirt by itself can even work, but other materials do a better job of spreading the heat around.

If a storm or other natural disaster occurs in your area, you may not have immediate access to help. According to the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency, keep a disaster preparedness kit in your home with enough essentials to sustain your family for at least 72 hours. Put this in an easily accessible location to have it handy in case anything unthinkable happens.

One of the best ways to know your chimney is good to go on any given night is to simply look up into your flue with a flashlight. If you see a thick buildup of creosote—a shiny, dark substance that looks like tar—it’s best to have your fireplace professionally cleaned before you go ahead with the burn. Additionally, having your fireplace professionally inspected once per year can also help increase your peace of mind and keep your family and your home safe.

You can fireproof an existing door to some extent, but it's better to remove the old door and replace it with a fire-rated model. Anything dealing with extreme heat needs rigorous testing and a door you DIY fireproof will not undergo the same safety measures as a premade one. Consider a door with a rating of at least 30 minutes or more in residential areas.
