"We wanted to redo the tub and shower installation. The company representative showed us a wide range of materials and and roughed out a design based on what we indicated we wanted. He gave us the price for what we wanted and told us we would be notified when the materials came in so we could schedule the start of the project. The project required removing the old tub and relocating the plumbing and shower head to a different wall. They protected all the exposed areas from dust and once they started, it only took about one week to complete the job. They cleaned after themselves everyday after their work, and upon completion of the project. They do excellent work and the new shower enclosure looks great! I would recommend them to anyone doing a bathroom makeover."

"David from Plumber Near Me was able to show up earlier than expected when another customer canceled. Only, in the plumbing version of, "Excuse me, but is the machine plugged in?", he had my problem correctly analyzed and solved in a couple minutes. Chagrin! But he was good humored, and there was no service call fee, so after asking about a couple other projects I have in mind for this place, David resumed his morning, and I returned to the massive mess my dog created *just* as David was first arriving. Will definitely keep these guys in mind for future projectsâ easy to remember name, too!"

"The time came to remodel my shower/tub area. After months of resourcing and pricing, I was ready. So, I called Expo Home Improvement. I am truly thankful I called for their services. They are not only professional at what they do but also reliable and dependable. The team is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, it was a delight to work with them. They offered me a very reasonable quote and the look my wife and I wanted., From sales, service/support to the installation crew, it was a wonderful experience, and the end result and warranty exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this faith-based company."

"The Basement Kings finished their LARGE job this morning, and I can’t praise them enough! They had a long, difficult job, but no complaints. When they discovered a problem, they fixed it. No problem, that’s their job. They found the water problem had a lot to do with drainage, so they worked outside in cold & rain & developed a system to carry water away from the house. That, to me, was over & above, but they said their main objective was to get & keep the basement dry, so they did what they had to do with no complaints. Now you can’t ask for better than that - they give their all! I am totally amazed!!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

It is generally not recommended to pour hot or boiling water down a drain to unfreeze pipes due to significant risks. In some cases, the sudden temperature change can cause more ice buildup or produce steam, which increases pressure and could cause the pipe to burst, leading to costly damage and potential burn injuries. While hot water might help with a partially frozen drainpipe, it is unlikely to thaw a completely blocked water pipe further down the system. Additionally, boiling water can damage plastic pipes over time. Safer and more effective methods include using a space heater near the frozen section or applying hot towels directly to the pipe.

Vinegar could damage drain pipes in theory since it’s corrosive in large quantities. However, you would have to pour a whole lot of vinegar down the drain at regular intervals to cause any issues. Adding a bit every now and then to clear out clogs is fine.

Window wells contain a drainage system that either redirects the water downhill away from your foundation or connects to your home’s interior drainage system. It’s important to check every few months to ensure your window well’s drainage is clear and working properly to avoid water damage to your foundation and basement.

Yes, you can use flexible pipe for a sink drain. Flexible pipes can make it easier to fit sink plumbing together with less measuring and fewer cuts. However, corrugated flexible pipe can trap hair, grease, and food particles in the folds and cause foul odors and eventually build up enough to clog the drain. Smooth pipes are recommended for sink drains and plumbing.

Besides opting for a professional inspection, there are some other telltale signs that a pipe in your home is ready to go. Keep an eye out for signs of leaks and spot-check exposed areas of piping. Musty smells, spots on your walls, and dripping sounds are signs an unseen pipe has a leak, for example. You can also check the tubing for stains, flaking, and discoloration, all of which are signs of corrosion.
