"Robert and Norman came out after a tub to shower install to fix an issue with a hot water line. Norman, the master plumber assessed the issue and found the best way to deal with it, even cleaned out the faucets. Robert repaired the drywall and became very friendly with Simba (my dog). Both guys were very punctual, informative and professional. Thank you guys!"

"Shawn, with Super Floor Store, did a fantastic job of bathtub to shower conversion in two of our bathrooms. The quality of the work was over-the-top terrific. Beyond that the cost of the project was tremendous and was done well within the projected time frame. In fact we got a bid from another company that was $20K more than the Super Floor Store. We got everything we wanted and for a great price. Also, everyone involved in the project was nice and respectful. Super Floor Store also replaced the flooring in one of our bedrooms and did an equally super job."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Ignoring minor drips in high humidity accelerates structural damage in older Trinity homes. Flushing non-biodegradable items or overusing garbage disposals quickly overloads private septic systems. Failing to drip faucets before occasional hard freezes leaves exposed pipes vulnerable to bursting. Additionally, running extremely hot water frequently accelerates mineral buildup from the local water supply, degrading your fixtures and water heater prematurely.

Helpful?

When hiring for plumbing, always verify that your contractor holds a valid state license and carries liability insurance. Because Trinity has limited local professionals, establish a relationship with a contractor before emergencies strike. Ask if they have experience with rural infrastructure, like wells and septic systems. Confirm your professional will pull required permits, ensuring your home stays safe and up to code.

Helpful?

Opening walls for plumbing repairs reveals severely corroded galvanized steel or cast iron pipes in older Trinity homes. Trenching through expansive clay soils requires significant labor, and discovering failing septic drain fields adds substantial remediation expenses. Emergency services carry travel premiums when professionals travel from neighboring cities. Retroactively bringing unpermitted work up to code also creates severe financial burdens.

Helpful?

Start by determining if your property sits inside city limits or in the unincorporated county, as this dictates permit requirements. Schedule major exterior plumbing work outside of the heavy rain seasons, since local clay soils become difficult to excavate. Build extra lead time into your schedule, because contractors source specialty materials from other areas in TX, and coordinate well inspections early.

Helpful?

Locate and test your main water shutoff valve immediately, replacing it if it sticks. Hire a professional to identify your pipe materials and perform a sewer camera inspection to check for tree root intrusion. For rural TX properties, pump and inspect the private septic system right away. Finally, insulate exposed pipes and ensure outdoor hose bibs have functioning shutoffs before winter.
