"Jesus and his crew arrived when they scheduled after good text and phone communication. I've been renovating this house for years and avoiding fixing the ceiling due to the effort required. They came in with very reasonable quotes for the drywall patching in 5 different rooms, filling of old light and vent holes and large cracks, then finally painting the ceilings. It took longer than they had anticipated but at no time was there a change in the agreed price. They cleaned up afterwards and made a final walk around to make sure I was satisfied. The result was as near perfect as you could get with the horrendous condition they had to deal with. They are highly recommended. "

We design and build custom cabinets and wood furniture. We also do all sorts of home renovations.

"It went so well and they did exactly what the contract said that they would do. Our contract was specific that left nothing to misunderstand about what I wanted done or they to do. They were working with 24 year old oak cabinets and were exact in matching corners & fronts of those old cabinets. It all looks so good. I worked with the owners daughter. The owner was very nice also. The carpenters were a pleasure to work with. They did their work and then the owner would call or text me to ask it there was anything that needed their attention. The payment process was excellent in that it was all done on Intuit and could come directly out of my checking account."

If you don’t want to sand your bathroom cabinets before painting, it’s possible to make it work. However, sanding the cabinets for a long-lasting paint job is always best. When comparing wood versus MDF, there are some widespread misconceptions that solid wood is more reliable and durable. Despite this common belief, wood isn't always a superior choice and MDF may be a better building material choice in some cases. Here are some examples:

  • MDF is more affordable than wood. You can buy MDF for as low as one-quarter of the wood price.

  • MDF is a smooth surface with no knots or woodgrain, which makes it easier to finish and cut with a saw. 

  • MDF is a standard choice for shelving and trim.

  • Unlike MDF, solid wood isn't the best option for cabinets or drawers. It can shrink, crack, or bend in response to changes in temperature and humidity, while MDF has a high moisture and fire resistance level and is less likely to break or warp.

Birch or maple plywoods have tight grain patterns and are dense species that hold up well over time and even in damp environments with proper sealing. These properties make them the most stable plywoods. Oak plywood is also an excellent option. However, care is necessary to ensure oak is well-sealed against moisture to ensure stability.

It’s not usually a problem, although you may want to check the specifics of your cabinets first. A wall of kitchen cabinets can support about 600 pounds, including what’s inside and anything resting on top. Keep that limit in mind when adding DIY shelves or décor to the tops of cabinets. If you are installing a new row of full cabinets, they’ll typically have their own support mechanisms and the added weight will be minimal.
