Jasons attention to detail and commitment to quality were evident in every aspect of the project. He ensured that the project stayed within our budget and was completed on time. What truly set Jason and his team apart was their ability to explain every step of the process to us, making us feel involved and informed. "My kitchen cabinet was damaged by the dishwasher leak and the water remediation company had to get rid of the kitchen cabinet and took out the sheetrock behind the cabinet. Robert is a professional guy and he has been in the cabinet business for over 20 years. He bought the new insulation, new sheetrock and wood planks. He put the insulation and sheetrock back on and he made the cabinet from wood planks. The new cabinet matches the existing cabinets in the kitchen. He also painted the wall and so I could not see the sign of the cabinets being repaired. In all, I highly recommend oncall service."

"After our first fiasco with construction to our roofline we shopped around quite a bit. We decided to go with Catalyst and couldn't be happier. Jason came over and was very methodical in his approach to our wants and needs. He suggested a plan of attack, gave me a quote, gave me a time estimate, and stuck to it. Jason was at the job each day to check on progress and ask me how things were going. He listened and talked a bunch of things out with me as we went along. The crew was fantastic. The painter helped me decide how to paint the exterior and suggested where to place the accent colors. Jason suggested cedar beams for the front porch (since we wanted to go from Colonial to Craftsman) and they were perfect. I didn't really like the wood only look, so I asked if we could get some stone around the base of the columns. He had the mason over the next morning. We harvested limestone from our ranch, he took a look, asked if we could get one more load, and he got started the next morning. The house has completely been transformed. We have gone from dilapidated colonial to gorgeous craftsman. We are so happy and pleased with their work. With the level of care and service we got, we'll recommend Catalyst Construction to everyone. We are using Catalyst for our interior remodel as well."
Mid century modern exterior that was completely transformed by adding a single pitch roof for some major curb appeal
Newly installed black windows and doors. Tiled bar top seating and engineered hardwood flooring.
Fully stocked wet bar with bar sink, floating shelves and flat panel cabinetry
Amazing stainless steel appliances. Large built in fridge, double over and chefs cooktop.
Fully custom cabinetry and custom stain grade island. We love this furniture style island!

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Dekton is worth the money for homeowners who want a nonporous countertop that resists heat, stains, water, scratches, and UV damage. It comes in a wide array of colors and patterns at various price points to suit different renovation budgets. Dekton is not worth the cost for homeowners who are particularly worried about chipping or cracking.

The costs depend on the type of wood, labor, roofing material, permits, and whether additional storage or enclosed walls are included.

When you think about Arts and Crafts-style homes, you probably think of a Craftsman house or a bungalow-style Craftsman. Craftsman is one of the major styles developed during the Arts and Crafts movement, but it checks most boxes. Craftsman houses have low-pitched roofs, exposed rafters, open floor plans, and stunning wood finish.

While it’s never too early to start planning for a major home improvement project like a home addition, give yourself at least a month or two to plan and design your addition, find a contractor, and get the permits in order. For larger projects like a second-story addition that require designing with an architect, plan on three to four months of preparation.

Yes, new home construction will always require building permits, no matter where you live. In most cases, you’ll need a general construction permit, along with plumbing and electrical permits for the utility lines in your home. Depending on where you live, you’ll likely find that you also need permits for things like connection to a sewage system or installing exterior components, like decks, driveways, patios, and curb cutouts. Leave navigating the permits required for new home construction to a professional to ensure your home is built legally and safely.
