Job: New Cement Overlay around Pool. Price was good. Result of Cement Overlay: OK, So-So. I have a new crack in coping. Result of my Wood Decks, Sports Court, Pool Bottom: All messed up. 2 Different Crews. #1 - The teams are independent subcontractors, so they have to negotiate between them and company. Not good. #2 - It is their "policy" to not remove any demo material (sand, gravel, grindings), but to use a leaf blower and blow it all into your other areas: house, windows sills, under deck, on sports court, under spa, in beds, in grass...EVERYWHERE but not removed! They did not even have a broom and dustpan. First subcontractor quit when I asked them not to blow, but to remove demo debris. They had to send a second subcontractor crew (2). #3 - They said they were going to remove the old surface and put new. Well, they were only willing to remove 15%, said rest is good enough. #4 - They got piles of wet cement in the pool. Clumps are still there stuck to pebble bottom. With the big Christmas cold windstorm coming in that day, I told them they should not come and attempt to work in 40mph cold winds. Subcontractor insisted he work (he needed the money). Winds created huge mess. #5 - Oil based sealer in the pool. Oil slicks floating all over the pool. They insisted I just turn on the pump! I had to use several rolls of paper towels myself to try to soak (took 2 days) it up and not let get into my equipment. #6 - Under-financed crews. They show up with a very old powerwasher beat to a pulp and does not work, no start cords,... The replacement powerwasher had a wheel broken and kept falling off, marking up wood decks. #7 Cleanup - Tore up my wood decks badly with powerwasher, trying to cleanup mess. #8 Edges - cut deep grooves and edges with saw, way too wider and deeper than existing, now all the leaves gather in them creating mess and future wood deck rot. #9 Painters without a tarp?!. The crew has no fabric or plastic tarps. I had to give them one. Mixing, color stains, sealer all splashing and dripping.

Bret Anderson (part owner of Texas Premier Coat Resurfacing) recommended a concrete contractor who would take on the relatively small walkway job (not rating him in this review; but, if so, he would only get a C). Bret's on-site estimate and proposal was thorough, informative, and not a high-pressure pitch. This company has an excellent website: [*** Link removed ***] We are most pleased with the results--got rid of that awful crushed granite and definitely enhanced the looks and usability of our back yard and patio. The crews that performed the overlay work were courteous and professional. This is a busy company, so a little patience is in order ... but, once they got here everything went quite well (including some necessary follow-up).

We contacted Bret Anderson of Texas Premier Coat Resurfacing and asked that he come to our home to give us an estimate for resurfacing our rear pea gravel patio (400 square feet) and the brick porch and cement walkway (100 square feet) in front of the house.   Bret came out within a couple of days and we were impressed by his product and the cost.  The cost was about 1/2 of one of the other estimates.  Contract was signed and work started within a few days.  The crew, headed by Alberto, was better than excellent.  They made suggestions when asked and listened to what we wanted done.  I wish all construction crews were as easy to work with.  The job took 2 days total and the end product looks fantastic.  I highly recommend Texas Premier Coat Resurfacing to any one.

Bret and his team were wonderful to work with out of the gate and I'd recommend them 10 of 10 times.  We had major weather delays in November and December, but that didn't stop him from continuously keeping us in the loop on scheduling of the work.  In a nut shell, we're ecstatic about the end product and it truly transformed our 'curb appeal'.  Moreover, when I see neighbors now, each one makes a point to tell us how impressed they are with our home.
I'm big on customer service, as it's highly important in my line of work so when someone stands out, I really want to take the time to acknowledge them.  Bret falls in this category and if you decide to do business with his team, I'm highly confident you'll have a similar A+ experience.
