"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

Armstrong Plumbing & Air is a family owned business and was started in 1934 by E.H Armstrong. We perform Heating, Air Conditioning, Plumbing and Sheet Metal Fabrication work throughout West Texas. Many people associate us with commercial work, but we have always been involved in residential service and installation as well. License number: TACLA00035C/M - 17317. Additional Contact Beth Carpenter

"In mid-June we realized that our decrepit HVAC system was on its last legs. We had the ducting system examined and it was in rough shape with holes and gouges which resulted in poor air quality. We got quotes from several HVAC contractors. Armstrong Mechanical came out on top. We got a top rated Lennox system, completely new ductwork, and insulation blown in, all at a very reasonable price. Armstrong completely replaced the 3 foot plenum, which is the stack over the blower unit that connects to the attic ductwork. Some companies just slide a new blower unit in and connect it to the original plenum which can be caked with years of dirt. Armstrong installed duct elbows over raised rafters and dampers in the ducts. Both improve the airflow to each room. Armstrong also put in all new boots, the metal sleeve that joins the air vent grate to the ducting. Our old ones were caked with residue from when our home was renovated and the ceilings textured. They added a vent to our stale walk-in closet. The air intake vents are embedded in the concrete foundation of our home and could not be replaced. However, the installation techs cleaned them using an extended vacuum hose. We had a glitch a couple of weeks after installation arising from fluctuations in the electrical grid due to Lubbock's changeover to ERCOT. Armstrong sent someone over within a couple of hours of our phone call. They installed a surge protector at no cost to us under our service contract. Armstrong Mechanical's Comfort Specialist David T and their service techs were wonderful to work with. They were very friendly, helpful, and patiently explained things. The installation was done carefully and efficiently. The service techs kept the areas they worked in clean. We strongly endorse Armstrong Mechanical and Lennox. If you need a new HVAC system or air conditioning/heater servicing, then you "Better Call Armstrong!""

"Landmark Uses Disreputable Contractors ? AZA Repair & Brenovations HVAC Are the Worst Landmark sent AZA Repair for my refrigerator, and they left it worse than before?still not working, scorch marks from a blowtorch, copper lines sticking out, tools and oil left behind, and no receipt. Then Landmark sent Brenovations HVAC for an AC motor replacement, and that turned into exposed wires, bolts hitting fan blades, missing parts, and complete disregard for safety near my kids? play area. Both companies were unprofessional, negligent, and refused accountability. Landmark?s use of these contractors makes me seriously question the value of having a home warranty at all."

Family owned Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning service company. Additional DBA - Joe Rushing Plumbing Company Inc.

"I had an issue with roots causing my bathtub to back up and slowly drain every time I ran the washing machine. I called Joe Rushing out to clear the drain. They came and ran a camera and supposedly tried to snake the drain. They said the whole line needed to be replaced and sent me a quote for several thousand dollars to replace it. I ran my washing machine that night and the tub almost filled up and held water for several hours. My problem was much WORSE after they came than when I called them. I called one of their competitors (Earls) who came out the next day and within 30 minutes had the drain clear. This was a few months ago and as of now everything is working perfectly. I tried to discuss my issue with them however they were unyielding about getting payment for the "work" they performed and not willing to work with me. From where I am sitting, it certainly appears that they made my drain worse in the hopes of getting $8k worth of work out of me. I do not appreciate being held hostage. I will never deal with these people again and recommend that you go elsewhere. At best, they half assed the job and clearly didn't run the washing machine to check it before they left. It certainly looks like a nice attempt to extort more money out of me. STAY AWAY."

Water Heaters questions, answered by experts

There are many issues that can cause cold showers, but the most likely is a problem with your water heater, especially if other fixtures also don’t get hot water. If it’s just your shower not getting hot water, you likely have a broken or damaged shower cartridge. You can replace this yourself or hire a plumber to do the work for you if you’re not comfortable working with plumbing.

Unusual noises, lack of hot water supply, efficiency loss, and visible leaks are signs of necessary replacement beyond mere repair.

An average-sized empty water heater weighs around 150 pounds. Tankless water heaters are much lighter, weighing between 10 and 50 pounds. The smaller size and added convenience come at a price, though—tankless water heaters average about twice the price of their traditional counterparts.

While possible, professional assistance is recommended to ensure compliance with local regulations and avoidance of avoidable risks.

Water expands when heated and also when freezing. When water is heated, it expands by around 4%. For a full water heater, this is one of the main reasons malfunctions occur—the hot water has nowhere else to go but out. Due to the constant expansion and reduction in volume, it’s recommended (required in most places) that an expansion tank be installed.
