"The charge was not for an estimate, but a service call. We charge $34.95 for a diagnostic fee and then advise if a repair or replacement is needed. After checking the system we found she needed to replace the system she had and agreed to give an estimate at that time. We attempted to call and found the phone had been disconnected. We were advised that she had a stroke and it was difficult to come to the door so we thought phoning would be the best way to give an estimate. As her phone was disconnected we could go no further. We can only locate one charge of $34.95 for the original service call, but as she feels that she should have that returned we will be glad to send it to her. I am at a loss as to why it took 8 months to file this complaint if she truly felt we had charged her unfairly. We are truly sorry that her experience with us was not what we strive for."
"We are very sorry for the confusion. We, as you recall, left at least 6 variations of estimates. You chose the highest option and provided your initials by that estimate.. You signed a proposal and gave a down payment. As you recall, you cancelled the next day and opted for the lower option. You called and cancelled that as well. Despite the cost on our end for restocking and service call and labor for the jobs we never charged you for any of it. We make recommendations and diagnose systems. Our technicians can make errors just like anyone. However in your case we have no business records of having noted anything about a CO test being made. Perhaps there is a discrepancy in what you remember? Additionally, we note that simply changing a part may get you by for a while, however in many instances it is not the most effective means of repair. We regret that you were not happy with us. We always put the cares and safety of our customers first. Many companies do not. These companies risk their customers' health, cost them time, leave them uncomfortable and do not offer great service. We are sorry that this was not your experience with us, we will endeavor to be even more clear in the future."
