"Mr. Donohue is very knowledgeable and has excellent experience in the lightning protection area. He responds quickly and has a very professional team of workers. He quoted the job using google earth information. When he visited the site he reduced his price by over 50%. I highly recommend him and I will use his company again."

"We contacted Lee Electric to get a quote on work that needed to be done on a property we were considering purchasing. Ada called us back almost immediately (she was very responsive throughout our interactions). She came out to the house a day or two later to examine the electrical systems and discuss the scope of the renovations we were considering. She diligently went through each and every project that needed to be done, examined the house thoroughly (from top to bottom), and provided such excellent insight into the condition of the electrical systems, the scopre of work that needed to be done, and the exact  (as well as what did not need to be done, which we greatly appreciated), and she outlined the costs for doing it. In every regard, Ada was EXCELLENT. We did not wind up buying the property, but we were so impressed with her knowledge and professionalism, we would absolutely hire her in the blink of an eye. We'd hire Lee Electric, too, as long as Ada came with the package. ;) Five stars.

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Lubbock, combining electrical work with upgrades like HVAC updates, breaker panel replacements, or solar installations can streamline your project. Coordinating these tasks minimizes wall repairs and reduces the number of inspections needed. Planning during Lubbock’s milder months helps avoid weather delays and improves contractor availability, making it easier to schedule outlet repair or lighting upgrades together for greater efficiency.

Helpful?

For Lubbock homeowners, you can safely replace standard outlets, swap out light switches, or install lightweight fixtures—always shut off power at the breaker panel first. Dust buildup from local winds can affect home electrical safety, so gently clean around outlets and panels. If you notice persistent flickering, burning odors, or have older aluminum wiring, contact a licensed professional promptly for a thorough inspection.

Helpful?

In Lubbock, signs like cracked or brittle insulation, scorch marks near outlets, or excessive dust in your breaker panel suggest outdated or unsafe electrical work. Frequent tripped breakers, outlets that feel warm, or missing GFCI outlets in kitchens and bathrooms are also warning signs. Homes with aluminum wiring or improper grounding should be evaluated by an expert familiar with local electrical codes.

Helpful?

Before starting electrical projects in Lubbock, secure all required permits and check for any HOA restrictions. Schedule work outside peak dust storm season to minimize weather disruptions. Always call before digging and have your breaker panel inspected if your home is over 30 years old. Choose dust-resistant equipment and prepare for possible power interruptions to keep your project on track.

Helpful?

When hiring an electrical pro in Lubbock, prioritize those with experience handling local weather challenges, such as dust storms and high winds. Look for professionals skilled in breaker panel upgrades, energy-efficient lighting, and home electrical safety. Request references from recent Lubbock projects, confirm insurance coverage, and compare multiple quotes. For older homes, choose someone knowledgeable about local building styles and common wiring issues.
