Waterfall leaks and penetrates through mortar joints on coping adjacent to waterfall. Mason attempted to repair twice but was unsuccessful. After several phone calls and emails and claims that someone would be sent out to fix, that has not happened. Very disappointed with Cody.
INITIAL REVIEW It went great. After talking with several pool contractors I viewed a video from Cody McFadyen, the owner of Waterview Pools, LLC. I immediately knew that Cody was the guy I wanted building my pool. Our initial meeting with Cody only confirmed that he was the right contractor due to his experience and pool building knowledge. Excavation started on 08/19/13 and we were swimming in late September just as promised. The crews were hardworking and very respectful. The Oklahoma flagstone coping really makes the pool look great. The masonry worker who installed the coping, tile and waterfall stones is a true artist. The plaster used was a quartscape Caribean Blue and really looks great. Cody used a tan color on the spraydeck which really ties the deck in with the flagstone. I would definately use Waterview Pools again. A project which our engineer said should have taken a few weeks is still not complete after more than five months and the contractor has walked off the job refusing to finish after taking $31,500. I have had to engage my lawyer to remedy the total mess that we are now embroiled in and I now need to find a new contractor to finish the work.
We hired Aaron Williams to construct a driveway that was to cost was to be $20,000. In the process of getting the driveway permit, we found out that the driveway had to be constructed according to the engineers plan and his new estimate was $28,000 for the project, and that he would bring by an updated contract soon. We never did get an updated contract. The job required excavation to achieve the profile of the plan. Unfortunately, he used a rented excavator that was much too small for the job and picked away at it for a month and a half. He said that the difficulties he encountered would raise the price to $34,000. And then he tried to raise the price to $38,400, at which point I engaged my lawyer. He ran up close to $10,000 in rental bills which were not paid, causing the rental company to come after us for payment and they have put a lien on our property for the amount of the unpaid rental.

We wanted a backyard for the kids and did not think it was possible. Hilario suggested we build the yard up instead of excavating down and we decided to go with his ideas. I cannot even begin to tell you how happy I am with the work! He built the backyard up and terraced the front yard. He moved sprinklers, brought in soil and sod and generally did an amazing job. Additionally, he is a super nice guy and works hard to make you happy. He will be back out in February to design and landscape our front beds. He found the problem under the slab. We hired him to replace some of the plumbing under the house. He let us know up front just how much he would be able to do and that if once he got further under the house, if the job required additional excavation and a total sewer line replacement, he would probably recommend that the job be handed over to another company. He's a small company and likes it that way, hence, for a really large job, he probably would simply not have taken the job in the first place. He was very clear about this. We encouraged him to start the work anyway. As it turned out, the lines were a lot worse than what could be seen with the camera. So he did recommend another company. In short, another company did finish the job. Even though he knew up front that he might not be able to complete the job, it still really bothered him that he needed to turn it over to someone else because he always finishes what he starts. But I have to admire the man for knowing his limits. He busted his butt in that brutal August heat and we felt he earned every penny for the work that he did. We really appreciated his being forthright with us. We would not hesitate to use him again and have already recommended him to others."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/tx/austin/adept-plumbing-reviews-418044.htm"},"position":6},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Key Sprinkler Co Inc","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"TX","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Pete C."},"reviewBody":" I contacted 2 sprinkler companies and both responded and came out. Joe Key was the second to give me an estimate. Both estimates were exactly the same and I liked both contractors but Joe spent the time discussing the project and I was impressed that he could do the job without boring under my driveway. Further he answered my questions about a future drip irrigation project for my wife's potted plants and offered to stub in an extra station for that future project for free.
We had to wait several weeks for scheduling but Joe was up front about the time and we agreed to the scheduled date. A week before schedule, Joe called and said they were running a day late and I had no problem with that.
Work was done in one day. Their superintendent, Big Jim, came out the next day to teach me how to operate the system.
A couple items need to be looked at and I called, left a message, and they scheduled late this week to come out.
My only suggestion to Key Sprinkler and ANY OTHER sprinkler company is that they should use a plate compactor to compact the grass when they cover the the sprinkler system as hand compacting leaves the trenches uneven. Further the excavation project turned up many rocks and some of them ended up in my grass and were not picked up."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/tx/austin/key-sprinkler-co-inc-reviews-280778.htm"},"position":7}]}

"Elderly Abuse …. Run I woke up to a leak in my front yard as I headed out of town. My wife called Roto Rooter as she left for work to come give us a quote. They said they only needed someone there to greet them when they arrived. So we had my 85 year old, legally blind, suffering from dementia mother, who lives next door, meet them outside so they could begin with their estimate. They never called us for a quote. Instead he replaced one section of pipe (which was only 4 ft. long), and a shut off valve (which he said was broken but was not) and charged a whopping $6,500. He walked next door and demanded payment from my blind mother. NO APPROVAL WAS GIVEN!!!! NO PHONE CALL WAS MADE!!! My mother, who isn’t mentally with us anymore, gave them her credit card and boom…… $6,500. We didn’t get a new water heater or a new sprinkler system. We got one 4 ft. section of pipe for $6,500 and a shiny new on/off valve which was not needed. That guy new what he was doing. He didn’t call us for a reason. He took one look at my blind old mom with dementia and charged whatever he wanted. He left us an arbitrary bill I could hardly read with little to no specifics. I have attached…. When I called the manager he did return half of the amount. It sounded like we were making progress. I still asked for an itemized receipt so I could see how 4 ft. of pipe and a valve would cost $3,250. If I stayed in town this repair would have cost me a total of $75 dollars in materials. He said he would get that itemized receipt and then has ghosted me ever since. I have reached out on numerous occasions. This company did not have permission to do $6,500 or $3,250 worth of work on my property. They were called for an estimate and took advantage of my elderly, blind, dementia plagued mother to run up a huge bill that no one can explain. They demanded that my mother, who isn’t the homeowner, pay $6,500. My wife waited by her phone all day for an estimate that never came. This is morally and ethically appalling at every level. Just for reference, we had our foundation lifted for $9,000 last year. They dug under the house in several areas and lifted it. This guy wanted about the same for replacing a 4 ft. section of pipe. How is this real????"

FAQs for excavation projects in Leander, TX
Unfortunately, some plumbing scenarios, like a broken sewer pipe repair, will require excavation to complete the job. Plumbing excavation costs range from $30 to $70per cubic foot. However, if you need additional trenching, expect to pay an extra $4 to $12per linear foot. Keep in mind that these costs are on top of the plumbing repair costs, and they don’t account for labor costs. Consult your excavation specialist to determine an accurate estimate for your job.
The average cost for pool excavation is $2,500. This cost can range from $450 to $4,500, depending on the pool shape and size, time of year, and any need to move buried utilities.
When excavating for your pool, you might have to move existing utilities. You can expect to pay an additional $15 to $25per linear foot to move gas lines. To move a septic system, it’ll cost an additional $2,000 to $20,000. A pool that is 10 feet by 12 feet averages $450 to excavate, and a 20-foot-by-40-foot pool averages $3,020.
The cost for residential excavation is $3,200 on average, ranging between $50 and $200per cubic yard. Total costs could range from $500 to $15,000, depending on the project type, yard size, and soil type.
When a project needs an excavator, the contractor will subcontract one as part of the larger project. If you hire an excavation specialist, you can expect to pay between $40 and $180per hour. When excavating, if you have soil with excessive rocks or clay deposits, expect an additional cost of $200 to $1,200.
Warm weather seasons like spring and summer are ideal times to excavate due to the ground being softer and easier to dig through. However, it is important to note that bad weather, like heavy blizzard conditions or torrential rainfall, can prolong the project length, increasing costs. That’s why it’s best to avoid excavating during winter or hurricane season, depending on your home’s location.
While completing an excavation project yourself is possible, we don’t recommend it. You’ll likely need to buy or rent the equipment necessary for the job. This equipment costs as $100per hour or $2,200 weekly, increasing by as much as 50% for larger jobs.
In addition, completing an excavating job yourself poses a safety risk. If proper marking hasn't occurred, you risk hitting buried cables and other critical piping, like gas and water lines. Additionally, if working with excavation equipment, you’ll need to steer clear of any overhead wires. Leaving this project to an excavating professional is best.
