We have been in the plumbing business for over 30 years. We have FREE estimates. We have 25 vehicles in our fleet.
"Quick, efficient, and costs were very reasonable. There are always several ways to solve a problem and they came up with a minimally invasive and effective remedy for our broken pipe situation. Good communication and friendly vibes from both office administration and the plumbers themselves."

"Where do I start? How about the most recent event. The straight line winds through Houston Heights, which occurred on May 16th. Our block lost power and our Generac 20KW standby generator kicked on, as it should. This unit was installed by Quality Generator years ago. It stopped working on May 20th about 3 hours before power was restored. I called for service, and they were swamped, so I scheduled a service call for June 13th. The technician showed up and replaced the motherboard on my generator at a cost of almost $500 + the Service Call. He said that all was okay now and I had no issues. 6 days later, I did a test by disconnecting my utility power, and the standby generator failed. I called Quality Generator and scheduled for technician #2 to show up on June 24th. That technician was unable to root cause the issue and said that I would need another technician to come out to further investigate. I attempted to schedule service visit #3 to no avail. Ultimately, I showed up at the doorstep of Quaility Generators on July 1st. At first, I spoke with an elderly woman individual from the scheduling department. I explained that my generator was still not running, that I had 2 service calls on it already, and that I was having issues with getting another individual from Quality Generators scheduled to continue the diagnosis. I also said that between the motherboard and the service call, that I was already into the service of my generator at almost $700. There was a previous technician who knew his stuff that left Quality Generators at the end of last year. I asked this elderly lady if I should follow the technician who had a clue or stay with Quality Generators since I was $700 into the fix already. She literally shrugged her shoulders and gave me a puff and walked away. I then spoke directly with the scheduling manager, and he indicated that a master service technician would arrive on July 3rd. Service visit #3 came on time as the scheduling manager indicated. He diagnosed the issue as an airbox crack issue, that is known on older Generac Generators. He did not have one in his van, and said that I would have to get another service call to replace (#4). I called to schedule visit #4 multiple times on July 3rd with no response. I finally spoke with the Scheduling Manager at 5:45 and was promised an answer either that day or first thing on the morning of July 5th as to if Quality Generators had the part or not and timing for the follow up #4 site visit. I called on July 5th after lunch, and left a voicemail for the Scheduling Manager. I called again at 5:45pm (they close at 6:00), and I was told that the scheduling department left at 5:00pm. WHAT DOES AN INDIVIDUAL HAVE TO DO, TO GET SERVICE ON A TIMELY MANNER FROM A COMPANY? I am a complete loss, and now I have a hurricane landing in the area."

The license requirements for water softener installation depend on your location. Some municipalities require that the installer hold a plumbing license, some require a permit and an inspection, but no license for the installer, and some require a permit and a license for the installer. Regardless of the local laws in your area, it’s always a good idea to hire a licensed plumber or installer. These pros will install your system properly and have the experience to size the system appropriately. Use Angi’s state licensing tool to check your installer’s license status.
The cost to install a water softener system is $1,500 on average, ranging between $200 and $6,000. The labor for water softener work typically costs between $150 and $1,000, so you can add that to your equipment costs to get an accurate total. Your price will depend on many factors, including the following:
System capacity
Home size
Water hardness levels
Type of water softener
Presence of electricity in the installation area
Local permit costs
Water softeners are worth the money if you live in an area with hard water. Hard water is safe to drink, but it poses serious threats to your plumbing system. The minerals in hard water will gradually build up on the inside walls of your pipes, reducing water flow to your fixtures. The minerals can also gradually corrode your plumbing system, reduce its lifespan, and increase the risk of leaks. Hard water also makes soap and detergent less effective. Water softener systems can solve all these issues, making them a great investment.
It’s possible to install a water softener yourself, but we don’t recommend it. Water softeners require working with copper pipes and electrical wiring, neither are suitable tasks for most DIYers. Plus, working with water and electricity together is dangerous and could pose a risk to your safety. Water softeners also need to be calibrated so that they don’t make your water too soft, as soft water poses just as many risks as hard water. Overall, it’s well worth hiring a local water softener installer to place your water softener system.
Your water softener size is based on your total household water consumption. In most cases, you can assume the average household member will use around 75 gallons per day. Multiply that by the number of people in your home, then multiply by 10 (for the typical grains per gallon). You’ll get a number in grains that should help roughly size your water softener. However, it’s best to hire a professional to install your system and use more exact numbers, like your exact average water consumption per day and starting water hardness.
