I initially tried to snake the line myself to clear the blockage (caused by condensate from the AC), but, couldn't fully clear the lines. So, I reached out to find a plumber to fully open the lines. Called around 9am and by 11am, Chris was at house to resolve problem. Interaction with both guys was highly professional and courteous. I think it helped tremendously to fully describe my problem to David so diagnosis at the house was spot on. Chris took care of the opening the drain and suggested I put bleach once a month (followed by hot water flow) into the sink to killl algae build up. I recommned Southern Plumbing and will probably ask them to quote a water softening unit install job next. After reviewing the options, I decided on TDT and relining of my pipes with epoxy. I was out of town during the process -- 3 days without water -- and arrived home the last day. The foreman of the crew and I talked every day of the job. They did a great job and obviously great care of my...
This went great. I would call Hot Water Guys again in a heartbeat. Our tankless unit had a remote control and this is no longer an option; even the personnel at Rinnai had no idea how to fix the issue. But after checking everything out, the guys found the staples in our wiring and were...

First, John reconnected my system to a working water line. Then he systematically worked on each area repairing the leaks and problems. The system now works again, and for a very reasonable investment.

"I purchased my first water softener and reverse osmosis water purifier 18 years ago when we first built our house. We loved both! But nothing lasts forever and both needed to be replaced. Luckily, I still had the paperwork from the original installation and I knew who to call. I received the same great service and attention as I had 18 years ago. Both the office staff and installers were extremely professional and courteous. The installers were very good about explaining everything…how the equipment worked and how to maintain it. A big plus for me, is they were very respectful of my property. They left everything clean and organized before leaving."

"recently called John Moore Services for what should have been a simple plumbing issue — a clogged bathroom sink connected to my air conditioner drain line. I reached out after seeing their TV commercial promoting clogged sink service for “about $69.” What I quickly discovered is that this advertised rate applies to an extremely narrow and unadvertised category of sinks that almost no real-world situation meets. My straightforward, less-than-20-minute fix was quoted at over $600 to snake. This is an outrageous markup for such a basic job. As a former small business owner, I find these tactics troubling. This is a textbook example of bait-and-switch advertising — grabbing attention with a low price, then upselling with inflated charges once the customer is committed. Practices like this harm consumers and tarnish the reputation of the many honest, hardworking service providers in our community. Shame on you, John Moore Services. My strong recommendation: Do Not Use."

FAQs for water softener service projects in Brookside Village, TX
The license requirements for water softener installation depend on your location. Some municipalities require that the installer hold a plumbing license, some require a permit and an inspection, but no license for the installer, and some require a permit and a license for the installer. Regardless of the local laws in your area, it’s always a good idea to hire a licensed plumber or installer. These pros will install your system properly and have the experience to size the system appropriately. Use Angi’s state licensing tool to check your installer’s license status.
Water softeners are worth the money if you live in an area with hard water. Hard water is safe to drink, but it poses serious threats to your plumbing system. The minerals in hard water will gradually build up on the inside walls of your pipes, reducing water flow to your fixtures. The minerals can also gradually corrode your plumbing system, reduce its lifespan, and increase the risk of leaks. Hard water also makes soap and detergent less effective. Water softener systems can solve all these issues, making them a great investment.
It’s possible to install a water softener yourself, but we don’t recommend it. Water softeners require working with copper pipes and electrical wiring, neither are suitable tasks for most DIYers. Plus, working with water and electricity together is dangerous and could pose a risk to your safety. Water softeners also need to be calibrated so that they don’t make your water too soft, as soft water poses just as many risks as hard water. Overall, it’s well worth hiring a local water softener installer to place your water softener system.
The cost to install a water softener system is $1,500 on average, ranging between $200 and $6,000. The labor for water softener work typically costs between $150 and $1,000, so you can add that to your equipment costs to get an accurate total. Your price will depend on many factors, including the following:
System capacity
Home size
Water hardness levels
Type of water softener
Presence of electricity in the installation area
Local permit costs
Your water softener size is based on your total household water consumption. In most cases, you can assume the average household member will use around 75 gallons per day. Multiply that by the number of people in your home, then multiply by 10 (for the typical grains per gallon). You’ll get a number in grains that should help roughly size your water softener. However, it’s best to hire a professional to install your system and use more exact numbers, like your exact average water consumption per day and starting water hardness.
