"Technician installed the heater without any issues, but was unable to get it to work with the remote control unit. He blamed it on a faulty temperature sensor or bad control board and left it in manual mode. After he left, I read through the installation instructions and figured it out. The software for the heater was not configured properly to recognize the signal coming from the control board. Once the setting was changed in the heater control panel, everything worked as it should."

"He was able to get it working again by going to service mode on the panel and then back to auto mode.  The pump was fine and he did not charge me anything, even a service call charge, which I was expecting.  When I have any further problems with my pool/spa I will definitely call him again.  Excellent service.  I also asked him several questions about the maintenance of my system and he answered all of my questions.

"Our waterfall motors generally do not last longer than one summer.  Previously, we had been told the motor was too large, too small, etc.  He told us the reason the waterfall motors did not last was due to calcium buildup, and this situation could be prevented by running it every day.  The heater works well (we bought over the internet) and the installation took less than one day.  The prices were reasonable and employees were punctual.  We were pleased with all the repairs/installations made.  However, it takes a great deal of time and effort to contact/get a response from this company.  Generally, the voicemail is full and calls are not returned until two or more days later.  We found this frustrating but others may not.

"They arrived on time and advised the most logical placement of the fixtures. The deal was for the install of 4 recessed lights at $499 and I wanted two extra, which they charged an extra $340 for. I thought this was a little high since they were already cutting holes and running wire and the cost of the actual LED light fixtures is only about $25 at Home Depot, but I needed it done, so I went ahead with it. They also had to drill two extra holes in my kitchen ceiling where no lights were placed in order to run the wire because of the way the beams in my kitchen ceiling ran. They did this without telling me, but since I already needed to have sheet rock repair done on my kitchen ceiling, it was not a big deal. The only real complaint I have about the work was that they left quite a bit of mess behind (sheet rock dust and pieces). Overall, I think they did a good job and I would hire them again."

"Bryan came over to assess the project and he was very friendly and was also very knowledgable. He told me exactly what would be done and made sure to answer any questions I had. We set up a time for his tech to come complete the work. When the tech/plumber arrived the next morning he was also friendly and knowledgeable. He completed the work in about three hours (which included a brief run to the hardware store to buy parts) and made sure everything was perfect and with no leaks before leaving. In my opinion, one of the best things about this company is their desire to educate the pool owner. Both men that came to my house taught me several valuable things about keeping up my pool. As a new pool owner, I was so grateful for the tips and information. When I have something go wrong with my pool again, I will definitely be giving Norris Pools a call."

"It went well. They did the job, got in and out and were very professional. They installed a light fixture with a switch. I’m now able to turn my light switches off and on by my iphone. They sent 2 techs to help me."

"Excellent experience, this is second job they do for me. The first project was a pool with outdoor kitchen, wood burning pizza oven, travertine all over place, amazing job. The second project was tiling the master and replacement of the bathroom floors. The price is the price, he measures and tells you how much is going to cost, no at the end surprises. They go with you when you are purchasing the tile to advise you. It’s phenomenal service. I have a third project now, for the end of this year which is wood flooring the second floor and they are doing it."

Sauna Installation questions, answered by experts

It will take several hours or more to build a sauna. A prefab kit will take anywhere from three to 20 hours to install, depending on complexity and your skill level. If you’re doing a custom build, it can take more than 50 hours—especially if you need to add ventilation, ductwork, and other renovations.

Considering the cost of tools, parts, and hiring assisted labor, building your own sauna can cost almost as much as purchasing one. It is less expensive to buy sauna kits, since they are premade and easier to set up. Still, you may need to hire a professional to assist in electric or plumbing installation.

No, you should only choose high-quality wood to build your sauna. Not all types of woods can withstand the pressure from heat or moisture. Only use softwoods, such as cedar and aspen, that are known for absorbing heat and resisting water.

The primary difference between a steam shower and a sauna is the type of heat they produce. A sauna generates dry heat using electricity, while a steam shower creates wet heat from steam, resulting in nearly 100% humidity. A steam shower typically replaces an existing shower, has an opening at the top, and operates at a lower temperature (around 90-120°F) than a sauna, though the high humidity can make it feel just as warm. It is advisable to limit steam sessions to 20 minutes. In contrast, a sauna is a fully enclosed space that can be placed anywhere in a house and produces dry heat.

A home sauna may be considered a luxury item by some homebuyers, which can provide a good return on investment. However, whether it increases your home's value ultimately depends on the buyer, as some may not want to take on the extra costs and maintenance associated with heating and upkeep.
