"MD Construction did partial repairs. Contractor did drywall, but had to be corrected in order to match the rest of the ceiling. Contractor did not install new master bathroom cabinet or remove wallpaper and prime it so he could replace with new wallpaper in master bathroom and guest bathroom. He did not replace fan/light unit in master or guest bathrooms, neither did he clean the area where unit was... It was cover with something. He was to install drywall in the ceiling of my office and paint the office. He did not put a transition strip to cover carpet and tile. There is a large gap between the carpet and tile. He was to replace baseboards in the bathrooms and carpeted areas"

Yes, it is possible to DIY install drywall, but it is a deceptively complicated process that can be quite frustrating if you don’t have experience. A 50-pound mirror can be hung on drywall, but only if it has the support of strong hardware. Ideally, you can find the studs behind the drywall and attach the mirror to them; this will give your mirror better stability. Otherwise, confirm that you are using anchors appropriate to the weight of the mirrors. Another technique is to use French cleats—two pieces of wood that fit together, with one piece attached to the wall and the other to the mirror. This allows the weight to be distributed over a wider area.

Drywall installation costs around $2,000 on average, but some projects cost as low as $400, while larger or more complicated installations can cost $6,000 or more. The most important cost factor is the size of the room or area, as many contractors charge on a per-square-foot basis. You should also consider the complexity of the installation. If you have large, flat walls with few wall openings, you’ll pay less than if you have multiple windows and doors to cut around, corners, or curved walls.

Drywall mudding can be done in one day if the project is small and the desired effect isn’t too complex. If you need multiple layers of mud, one day may not be realistic. But a single room that requires little more than joint compound on the seams and screws can be done in a day or two.

You do not need to drywall over most types of garage insulation. However, doing so can increase noise reduction, make the space more attractive, and keep children and pets from touching harmful fiberglass insulation. If you’re using cellulose or some other type of blown-in insulation (fiberglass and mineral wool are common), you will need drywall to contain the insulation material.
