"Repairs were completed quickly and well done. We needed some sheetrock repairs and spackle touch up on a house we had just purchased. Repairs were completed before we moved in. Thanks Antonio for getting the job done right!"

"Generally, I am quite satisfied.  They came early on the first day and were done on a timely basis on the second day.  Two coats of paint on everything and all issues look well-sealed.  Couple of oops on the back of the railing on the front porch, but I can easily touch it up without much trouble.  They were very professional and friendly.  I will definitely use them again for other projects."

"All the work done by Jaye Stark and his crews was excellent. In spite of the local heavy rains and flooding in May, he completed the work close to on time. Most important, where the heavy rains resulted in damage to some of the work he performed, Jaye came out quickly to repair the damage. I recommend him to anyone needed masonry work."

"This was a Big Deal for a window and door seal for $199.00.

It took us a couple of times to find a time that worked, one time it was raining, another time it was very cold and it would have been hard to have the doors open for a while.Mr. Elliot and his partner called an hour or so before our 1 pm time just to confirm.  They arrived a little after 1 and started working on our doors.  One of the doors was slightly warped and they both worked and worked to get a tight seal on it.

On one of the doors had been kicked in about 5 years ago and when it was replaced, the plate on the frame was interferring with the door sealing properly.  They actually took the plate off, shaved the frame down a hair or two and put it back on so that it seals properly.  They even touched up the paint around where they counterset the plate!

They fixed all the outside doors and cleaned everything up.  The doors are quite tight now and I feel certain our summer energy bills will be lower thanks to their work."

"Cane and his crew were fantastic! They showed up, worked long long hours to get the job done, and left me with a sharp looking new bathroom.  Cane was meticulous about getting things right, even tearing out already laid tile and re-doing the job a few times when he noticed small flaws. He has been incredibly responsive, has listened carefully to what I wanted, offered some great suggestions, and worked hard to help me get the most out of my budget. I have more repair work to do in the house after the plumbers and I'm going to have Dream Renovationz repair the rest of the floors and drywall.

"I bought a Angie's List deal of Handyman Service for $79.  I will say up front that this was worth the money, although if I had been paying full price I might not say that.
I bought the deal and tried to schedule the service for April 7-9, but the first he had available at first was in early May.  Luckily, John had something come open April 23 at 10.  In the back and forth with respect to scheduling, John was prompt in getting back to me.
On April 23, he did not show up at 10.  I realize that workmen frequently have little control over their time when they are on a job. When things go wrong which turn a 20 minute job into 2 hours, they cannot simply leave because the time is up, so I understand tardiness due to those kinds of situations.  By 11:30, I just wanted to get an ETA, so I called him.  I live northeast of Plano in Wylie, in Collin County.  He was half way to Waco.  He had my address and zip code, so I don't know where the confusion arose, although at that time Google Maps was having a problem finding my exact address. He had to turn around and drive in the opposite direction from which he had set out that morning.  It was almost 1 pm before he showed up.  It was not his fault that Google Maps couldn't tell him where to go, but I feel that he should have called me for directions when there was a question.  That is why I rated punctuality as D.
When he arrived, I explained that the first thing that we wanted was drywall repair.  We had a hole where an electric box had been, as well as 3 small cracks above a window and a doorway that appeared the summer we had the 42 days of 100+ heat.  Those areas also needed to be textured, as well as an area about 2&1/2 feet in diameter which had already been repaired.
At that point, he asked where the materials were, because according to the terms of the deal we had to provide our own materials.  I hadn't realized that--I am accustomed to workmen having the materials and charging me for them.  I thought that I had some drywall repair in the garage, but I didn't.  I didn't have the texture for sure.  It was my fault for not reading all of the details, but it might have been nice had he mentioned it when the final date for the work was confirmed.
So, while my husband ran out to Home Depot, with a shopping list, John started by doing some caulking in my bathroom (which I did have the materials for).  When my husband returned, John patched the areas that needed patching, and then finished the caulking as well as doing a couple of other small jobs (I forget what) while the drywall repair dried.
Even though it should have set in 20 minutes, it was still very wet after 45 minutes, and could not be textured.  We asked if he could come back to finish the texturing and we would pay him for the extra time at normal rates.  He agreed.
When I contacted him around June 25 to find out when he could return to do the texturing, he indicated that he could come back May 5, after we wanted to get our house on the market.  I scheduled it, but my realtor called in a favor, so on June 26, I cancelled the May 5 appointment.   (In the end, we got a guy that does dry wall repair exclusively to texture, and he brought in a machine.  It was done before May 1, and the job that he is probably better than anything that could be accomplished with canned texture.)
We did get the 2 hours of work that we paid for.  John was pleasant enough, but I think I would try someone else before I used him again.  (Although he does know how to get to my house now.)  If I had been given a choice of "Might use again," (rather than a Yes or No to the question would you use him again?), I would have chosen that.

"Had a water main overflow from washing machine, which flooded my utility room, kitchen, dining room and several other areas throughout.  The same night it happened they responded within an hour of my call and setup the wall dryout by the next day.  They helped me work with the insurance company to get the right info to them and get serviced properly by my insurance company.  After dry out was complete, they also were the restoration company that remodeled my house .  They not only restored my floors, cabinets, trim, and walls, but they went the extra mile to make sure I was serviced on my busy schedule.  They were timely, professional, honest and worked during the thanksgiving break time.  In the end, the insurance company paid out 18k for everything and Dryquick went over and beyond to restore my peace of mind and made my home better than it was before.  As a contractor myself, I honestly must say that I was beyond satisfied and  have already been referring their services to my co-workers.

"He was excellent.  He came out and did the work in one day.  He was very prompt with the estimate and with completing the work. He stayed spot on with the price.  He cleaned up extremely well after completing the work, he even cleaned up the tarp and rocks I had used to cover the hole prior to the repair."

"The Good:
BEAUTIFUL WORK!
Derek has and was always very good with communication which was mainly via email. He was very friendly and willing to work with you and your requests and needs.
The tile guy always cleaned up when he was done with work for the day.
Contractors used for glass install were very professional and quality work was done.
The faucet installer was very nice and did a great job.
The Neutral:
The project overall took about a month but if everyone coordinated or was working on one project 100% it would have taken about 1.5 weeks to complete. About 2 weeks of that time little to no work was done. I understand that most contractors work on multiple projects so things have to be coordinated as such.
The Bad:
Unfortunately, he really needs to get better contractors.
The tile guy would either show up late or not at all and I would have to contact Derek to see when and if he would ever show. The tile guy always had an excuse to why he was late.
The granite guy left and absolute mess of my bathrooms and used my toilet and didn't flush!
Getting anyone to come back out after work is done to fix or touch up things is impossible. I had to wind up doing everything myself, thanks to online searching!
Conclusion:
If some things were to improve or change then I would consider working with Derek again. I think it's a bit unfair to say that I would not work with him again but there isn't an option of "unsure".

"The process went mostly smoothly. The initial estimate was done, but after having several estimates, it became clear there was a math error from TPC, but Ramone came out quickly to fix it. We picked our granite, and Ramone was very understanding when I had to repeatedly reschedule due to an injury I had sustained when building and installing the cabinetry (nothing too serious). The team had to review our kitchen again to ensure everything would fit as expected, as they were not sure if they were going to be able to have the grain flow in the same direction throughout the kitchen. Unfortunately, that led to TPC rescheduling with us, which they communicated poorly. However, they did a great job when they came out, and were very professional and courteous."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

The cost to skim coat drywall is $1.15 to $1.35 per square foot. Most of the cost is labor, for the necessary skills to apply the skim coat with precision using high-quality tools. This is a job better left to the professionals for the best outcomes.

While certain types of textured walls can seem dated (looking at you, popcorn), textured walls are a common sight in both older and more modern homes. The main reason textured walls may be here to stay is that they are an excellent way to hide minor imperfections on a wall and give it a finished appearance. Some homeowners think a coat of paint on drywall is a bit industrial-looking. However, that look works perfectly in modern home design

There are six levels of drywall finish, from 0 to 5, that refer to the amount of work performed during the finishing process.

Level 0: Drywall is hung with no finishing work.

Level 1: Tape is placed over the seams between drywall sheets.

Level 2: A thin layer of mud is applied over the tape and screw holes. This level is common for utility rooms or walls that will be covered.

Level 3: A full coat of mud covers the screw holes and tape, but the surface is not sanded. This is often used in garages.

Level 4: This is the most common finish for visible interior walls. It involves applying two coats of mud over seams and screw holes, with sanding between each coat, creating a smooth surface ready for flat paint.

Level 5: This is a high-end finish for luxury homes. It includes full taping, mudding, and sanding, plus a final skim coat over the entire surface before painting.

Through expert matching of texture and paint for an invisible repair.

Wall anchors are suitable for drywall and plaster walls, which are common in most homes. However, different wall materials may require specialized anchors. For concrete or masonry walls, you'd typically use concrete anchors. When dealing with other wall types, such as brick or tile, specific anchors designed for those materials may be necessary. Always consult with a hardware specialist or check the manufacturer's recommendations to ensure you select the appropriate anchors for your specific wall type.
