"What a great experience we had with Ambiance Ponds Fountains and Pools! I received a call back the day I contacted HomeAdvisor and even got a preliminary quote by that evening for cleaning and refurbishing our existing pond. Jerry and his staff were courteous, professional, honest, reliable, and effective. They upgraded and replaced existing equipment. I couldn t wait for nightfall to sit and sip a peach sangria while enjoying our new pond! Thank you, Jerry and staff for a job well done."

"Instead of replacing the motor, which would have been more expensive, they simply repaired it. The entire job start to finish took about four days. They explained everything, were very professional and called before coming back."

"Doug was great. This is our second time working with him. He was easy to make contact with, quick to supply an estimate, and punctual to show up when he said he would. We worked with him on some low lying areas of our yard that we have struggled with and he came up with some ideas that we were happy with. He also installed a crushed granite dog run where our dogs had rutted out a muddy path. We are very happy with the results. Highly recommended."

Fountains questions, answered by experts

Natural swimming pools are designed to deter pests, including mosquitoes. While any body of water can potentially attract pests, the natural filtration system keeps the water clean and constantly moving. Mosquitoes specifically are attracted to standing water, so the continuously circulating water in a natural pool makes it an inhospitable environment for them.

Yes, your fish should stay alive in a frozen pond if you winterize it properly. By ensuring your pond has enough oxygen, good water quality, and a hole to release harmful gases, your pond and fish have the best chance of staying alive and healthy. However, if you have tropical fish, they should be overwintered indoors.

One reason you may want to fill in your pond is the cost of maintenance. Pond cleaning may cost about $1,000 for an annual cleanup, or monthly visits may cost $75 to $100 per visit. If you don’t want to spend that much per year on pond upkeep, you may consider filling in your pond.

How many fish can call your pond home depends on the volume of the pond and the fish size. Your pond's filtration system also influences the number of fish that will thrive in a pond. A general rule of thumb is to have 1 inch of fish for every square foot in a pond that's 2 feet deep. Another rule of thumb you can follow is to have one koi fish for every 200 gallons of water or two goldfish for every 200 gallons.

Water features enhance aesthetics, improve outdoor ambiance, and provide a soothing, tranquil atmosphere.
