"Jason at Osborn Air helped us when we were in a serious bind due to another contractor’s errors. He came out quickly!!!, identified the problem, and corrected it for our home to be safe and functioning. You can tell he’s very knowledgeable on HVAC assembly and requirements. Their customer service is top notch too. We’ve now used them for servicing as well as repair, and every time I reach out, I get fast, friendly, and personal service. "I received 3 quotes on installing a new 5 ton unit to our house air network was $2,000 cheaper than the # 2 bid and over $3000 cheaper than the other bid. They came when they said and chris was very knowledgeable. We had a new unit installed as well as all new ducting and blown in insulation. I would highly recommend air network in the Weimar area"

Small jobs welcome

"I hired them to clean my air vents. They were so easy to work with from start to finish and now my air conditioning system works so much more efficiently. I was so pleased with their work, I have asked them to come back to clean my dryer vent and my chimney. Five thumbs up!"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Choosing a unit with higher BTUs can use more electricity if the BTUs are more than what’s necessary for your room size. However, choosing an AC with BTUs that match the size of your room or house, your unit will cool your space efficiently. On the flip side, choosing a system with not enough BTUs can cause the system to work harder to try to cool the space, leading to more electricity consumption and higher energy bills.

This depends on the extent of the freezing. Some ACs only need an hour or two to thaw out, but others may need a full day to completely unfreeze. Once you turn off the system to let it unfreeze, check it periodically to make sure the drain pan doesn’t overflow. When you turn the system back on, keep an eye on it to ensure it doesn’t start freezing again.

It’s normal to hear a low humming sound as air moves through your vents. Most of the time, you probably won’t even notice it. However, if that sound becomes disruptive or if you hear more concerning noises (such as rattling, clicking, banging, hissing, or grinding), there might be a problem with your HVAC system.

Most units are designed only to cool the house down to 20 degrees less than the temperature outside. This means that if it’s 99 degrees Fahrenheit out and you’re trying to cool your home down to 65 degrees, you’ll notice your AC is struggling.

Lower the blinds on all your windows, turn on your ceiling fans, and keep the thermostat at a consistent temperature to help your AC do its job. Investing in an HVAC maintenance plan also helps because pros will come out to inspect and tune up your unit regularly, keeping it in optimal working condition.

If you’re looking for an energy-efficient heating and cooling system to heat a compact to average-sized home, then a ductless system is absolutely worth considering. The installation is less hassle when compared to a ducted heat pump system, and because your electricity bills should drop, it’s an excellent long-term investment.
