"I delayed writing this review to give Anderson A/C ample time to deliver the high-quality work I expected. A brand new system was installed, but a series of issues followed upon completion of the project. First, the dehumidifier didn?t work due to an improper wire connection. Then, the A/C unit began dripping water into the emergency drain pan because of a misconnected drain pipe. Later, the P-trap started leaking water into the attic. The quality of Anderson A/C?s workmanship declined quickly?and unfortunately, so did their reputation in my eyes. The staff were friendly, which is why I?m giving them 3 stars instead of just one."

"I received 3 quotes on installing a new 5 ton unit to our house air network was $2,000 cheaper than the # 2 bid and over $3000 cheaper than the other bid. They came when they said and chris was very knowledgeable. We had a new unit installed as well as all new ducting and blown in insulation. I would highly recommend air network in the Weimar area"

"I hired them to clean my air vents. They were so easy to work with from start to finish and now my air conditioning system works so much more efficiently. I was so pleased with their work, I have asked them to come back to clean my dryer vent and my chimney. Five thumbs up!"

"Can't say enough about Jasper and his quick, efficient service!! And Tina ALWAYS answers the phone! His crew stuck by us with recommendations and advice throughout our very long remodel process. We use All Around AC for all our HVAC needs. For our recent remodel project, Jasper's crew Alex and Miguel arrived to install our new unit the very next business morning after we called. They are awesome! Very professional, polite and worked quickly to accommodate our situation and they cleaned up nicely afterwards. Love this Trane HVAC system!!"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

The outdoor portions of air conditioners are designed to weather the rain, so you don’t need to worry about it. An awning or roof will help protect them from snow or falling debris, which can do more damage. This is true of both window AC and outdoor units for larger systems.

If your AC suddenly stops working, the first thing to check is your thermostat settings. Ensure the thermostat is set to the appropriate temperature and mode (cooling). Sometimes, a simple adjustment or replacing the batteries in the thermostat can resolve the issue. If that’s not the issue, look to see if the circuit breaker tripped. These basic checks can often identify simple fixes before you need to call for professional assistance.

During the summer, it’s best to set your AC to 78 degrees when you’re home and awake, according to the Department of Energy (DOE). For better energy efficiency, raise the temperature slightly to 85 degrees while you’re out of the house. The National Sleep Foundation advises lowering your thermostat to between 60 and 67 degrees when you’re asleep.

The cost of annual maintenance depends on the type of HVAC system you have. AC service typically costs an average of $200 but ranges from $100 to $550. If your system needs repairs, the price will vary significantly depending on what needs fixing. However, addressing the issues as they arise can prevent further damage to your unit and keep it operating efficiently for much longer.

ACs don't run on water. They're not connected to drain pipes or any part of your plumbing system. However, they need refrigerant to run. Refrigerant is a gas or liquid that has a low boiling point and absorbs the heat in your home. ACs need this in order to be functional and cool your home. If you suspect your AC is low on refrigerant, you need to contact a licensed HVAC professional. Refrigerant is a dangerous chemical that requires specialized training and permits to work with.
