"I have known this pro for quite some time. He is honest and diligent in work. He worked out an exceptional unit with a fair price. He also found some flaws that a previous A/C missed when the previous owner had work done before the sale. If you quality service at reasonable price he is the pro you need."

"What a relief! We just bought an older home and knew the ac/heating unit was older. Even in icy weather, the owner of the company made it to my house! Our heater is now working great and he took the time to rewire some things and install our new thermostat we had not put on yet. Thanks so much!"

"Sept 24, 2025. Well, I have to say this duo team did such a professional job on the new hvac system. I could tell Omar and Eric had the experience and really cared about the proper installation and doing everything correctly. "He called to let us know he was on his way and arrived when he said he would. He diagnosed the problem quickly and did the needed repair. He also took an extra minute to make one additional unrelated small repair. He also looked at a third issue and gave his opinion about the needed repair. He was very professional and we would certainly use him again."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

To diagnose a bad HVAC or AC damper, assess the airflow from your vents. For a manual damper, close it, run your system, and check for airflow. If air is still coming through the vents, the damper is likely faulty and needs repair or replacement. For an automatic damper, turn on your HVAC system and monitor the airflow and room temperature. Signs of a problem include low airflow, a room that won't maintain its set temperature, or a drafty feeling. If you suspect a faulty automatic damper, you may need to hire a professional for repairs.

A home AC unit provides anywhere from one-half to five tons of cooling and requires approximately two to four pounds of refrigerant per ton of cooling. At approximately five to 10 minutes to fill one pound of refrigerant, a home that requires three tons of cooling will take about six to 12 pounds of refrigerant and approximately 30 minutes to two hours to completely recharge the unit.

In most cases, you should hire a professional to carry out services on your HVAC system, as the components are complicated, expensive, and potentially dangerous to work with. However, there are a few things you can do on your own to keep your HVAC system in good condition, including changing your filters every three months, keeping the area around your outdoor condenser clear of debris and plant growth, making sure your or intakes aren’t blocked, and keeping an eye out for increased energy bills, strange noises, and unusual odors related to your equipment.

It is normal for the attic to be hotter than the rest of the house in the summer, but only by about 10 or 20 degrees. Attics that aren’t properly insulated or ventilated can reach temperatures of 130 degrees or more which can cause damage to the home’s structure, including the roof, wood framing, and HVAC system.

Evaporator coils in an HVAC system typically last between 10 and 15 years, which is roughly the same lifespan as the entire AC unit. The longevity of the coils can be affected by usage frequency, environmental conditions, and how well they are maintained. Regular maintenance, such as cleaning and inspections, can extend their durability. If the evaporator coil fails in an older air conditioner, it may be more cost-effective to replace the whole unit rather than just the coil.
