"Garret and his team were beyond professional, friendly and very trustworthy. I would highly recommend. Do not look for other options As an owner of a rental property, Iâ ve had horrible experiences with past drywall professional. I would actually love to name them, but don't want any issues. I trusted in them because they appeared as top listings/recommendations on service websites. Long story short I had horrible experiences with others. Garret was quick, professional, friendly and since he is the owner he is genuinly interested in giving you the best service. Love the work!"

"I hired Patch Bros for a drywall patch and to have an attic access point installed in my ceiling. I had previously planned on hiring a different pro who had already given me an estimate, but then never called me back to move forward with the job. I am certainly glad that he didn’t, because the folks at Patch Bros gave me an estimate at more than HALF the price of the other company! They were quick to call me and set up the job and made short work of the project, and I paid exactly what was quoted in the estimate...which is always nice. I highly recommend them!"

Small jobs welcome

"They removed the old surface lacquered and painted my bathroom cabinets after another vendor destroyed them trying to resurface them. They painted my bathroom which was wallpapered. The work done by the vendor was exceptional. They were punctual and professional. If you need painting done, these are the guys to contact."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

You can take a few steps to save money on drywall installation, even when hiring a professional to do the bulk of the work for you. These ideas include the following:

  • Buy the drywall and other materials yourself to avoid product markup and delivery fees

  • Ask about discounts if you use the same company to tape, spackle, and paint

  • Hire drywall professionals in the winter when demand is the lowest

  • DIY as many parts of the project as possible, like replacing insulation and painting

Brick and stucco are a lot more different. You must use picture hanging clips designed for brick walls, or use a plaster rail system with adjustable hooks. Any other type of hanging hardware will cause damage to the bricks behind. You won’t be able to really use nails, either, because they’re not strong enough to go into the bricks.

Look for flaking paint or air bubbles that burst and then flake away. Paint will begin to flake after being exposed to minimal moisture or water, so it’s a good indicator of any water damage. If you notice your paint starting to flake, feel the plaster underneath to see if it is soft or damp.

Whether you apply the drywall mesh before or after drywall mud depends on the type of patch it is. For self-adhesive patches, you’ll put the patch down first and then coat it with mud. Mesh patches that are not self-adhesive will require you to put mud down first and then press the mesh into it, followed by additional coats of mud.

Drywall anchors won’t work on plaster. Instead, they will more than likely cause more damage and pull out the plaster. The best type of anchors to use on plaster walls are the ones that will bite into the surrounding area, such as molly bolts and toggle bolts. Masonry anchors with expanders on the sides also work for lighter pictures.
