"Tyler came in and immediately said the fly issue wasn't from a broken or separated pipe under the slab. He checked the bottom of the toilet and found a small leak. Removing the toilet showed the flange was installed incorrectly 23 years ago by another plumber which caused the flange to break and cause the leak. Adam came in to replace the flange and install a new updated toilet. His photos confirmed that the flange was installed correctly and the toilet works great. I highly recommend Mother Modern Plumbing. They are at the top of our list for any future needs."
"Excellent job by all I worked with. My wife even commented how every one from the dig crew to plumber we are very nice. I have building experience but it was nice that the first service tech walked me through the issues and even let me view everything he was viewing. Gave me three solutions and good/bad of each. When it comes to the actual work it was done exactly as discussed. No surprises and no hidden charges. Nice to work with a service provider that does what they say, no surprises, and put my yard back to original. I will definitely use them again for my plumbing needs."

"Don was very responsive, his bid was extremely fair and he is a delight to work with, you can tell he really wants to get it right, and did. We did a bathroom remodel, he was the only bidder who got down on the floor and looked under the sink while he bid it, and discovered I had a weird plumbing situation back there, which he recommended we change, and we did. This will probably save us some headaches down the road. The cabinets are larger than what we had because we had ample room, and they're just beautiful. I'm really pleased."

"Joey was our salesman and he was very thorough and explained the whole process to us. We picked out all of our flooring, paint colors, fixtures, shower enclosure colors/patterns, type of glass for the doors etc from an extensive set of samples he brought with him, which was very helpful. Install day came exactly as scheduled by Randell and our installer Taylor and plumber Clay showed up to get started. Our house is 72 years old, so they had a few issues to deal with and overcame every little thing that needed to be done with complete competence. Our 2 bathrooms both turned out SO pretty and we couldn't be happier with the work that was done. Taylor is very detail oriented and a very hard worker. He even showed up to work during the snow that practically crippled the city. I was very impressed with his work ethic. He is very pleasant and polite and I kinda miss the guy now that he's gone. I'd absolutely hire them again if I renovate any other bathrooms."
In newer Bowie homes, plumbing requires minimal upkeep beyond routine water heater flushes to clear hard water sediment. As homes reach twenty to forty years old, pipe joints separate due to shifting clay soils, and older plastic supply lines crack. For houses built before 1980, galvanized steel pipes corrode internally and cast iron drains collapse. We recommend a full repiping evaluation for older properties to keep your water flowing properly.

Start by identifying your water source, as rural properties outside Bowie rely on private wells and septic systems. You also need to know your foundation type. North TX has expansive clay soils that shift and stress buried pipes, making plumbing under concrete slabs complex to access. Finally, check your pipe materials. Homes built before the 1980s have galvanized steel lines that corrode over time, while newer builds require different maintenance.

Account for hard freezes during winter months. Exposed pipes and outdoor irrigation systems require strict freeze protection to prevent bursting. Additionally, Bowie has hard water that causes scale buildup, which reduces the efficiency of your fixtures and water heater. North TX also experiences periodic droughts that accelerate soil shifting and stress underground lines. Always verify permit requirements with the local building department before starting any major plumbing project.
Helpful?
Discolored water and reduced pressure indicate corroding pipes or severe scale buildup. Wet, sunken spots in your yard point to broken underground lines caused by shifting TX soil. If you smell sewage outdoors, your septic system needs immediate attention. For older homes in Bowie, schedule a professional inspection to identify outdated pipe materials or hidden freeze damage. A licensed contractor will ensure your property stays safe and perfectly functional.
Helpful?
Annual winterization of outdoor hose bibs and exposed pipes is essential to prevent freeze damage. Due to the hard water in Bowie, flush your water heater annually to remove sediment and maintain efficiency. For homes over twenty years old, schedule periodic video inspections of your drain lines to catch separations caused by shifting Texas clay soils. Rural properties require septic tank pumping every three to five years.
