"CR Plumbling is the only plumber I will ever use or refer to someone in this area. For the past 3 years, we have been dealing with a shower leak in our guest bathroom. We have had 5 plumbers from two local companies, including two master plumbers, try to assess and resolve the issue to no avail. After many appointments, attempts, invoices, and damage to our home along the way, I had almost thrown in the towel. I gave it one last shot with CR Plumbing, and I'm so thankful I did. I sent an inquiry at 11 pm on a Thursday, and by 8 am Friday morning, I had a phone call to walk through the problem and schedule a service call. Knowing we had been through the ringer, we were scheduled to meet with Clay, the owner, which was comforting to know they took the repair so seriously. He also brought along two additional plumbers to ensure many perspectives were taken to make sure it was fixed right the first time. They were able to identify the problem almost immediately and it didn't require cutting through any walls, ceiling, or tile. They ordered the parts they needed and were back the next day to repair the shower. It was quick, effective, and cost efficient. They also maintained COVID protocols throughout the visit, which put us at ease. I'm happy to say that for the first time in 3 years, we can finally use our shower! Thank you, Clay and Phil! We are so grateful for your service."

"My experience with Doss Plumbing was great. Ricki was super professional and friendly. Replaced my water heater very quickly. I thought it was going to be a long process but Ricki was done in about 2 hours."

"The Onyx product looks great, easy to clean, and best of all...no grout to fight with!! Their product was the best price and looks better than any other option. Josh is easy to work with. If he can't make the appt. on time, he calls/texts to let you know. We have had his company do 6 bathrooms in the past from new counter tops, shower only installs, bathtub, new designer cabinets, plumbing and electrical outlets. I've had all of his workers do great jobs. When we move again and need another bathroom update, I have Josh's number in my phone. And no, we are not related in any way!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

In the majority of cases, homeowners insurance will not cover a main sewer line root clog. The reason is that most insurance companies consider tree root damage to sewer lines as common wear and tear, which is also preventable. However, you may be able to buy optional add-on coverage, such as "service line coverage" or "sewer line endorsements," that would protect against root damage to your sewer line.

If a pipe bursts in your home, the first step is to shut off the water supply as quickly as possible. You can often use a local isolation valve, such as the one under a kitchen sink, to cut off water to a specific area. However, if you cannot see the burst pipe or if it involves a large water supply line, using the main water supply valve is the best option to stop the flow. After the water is off, open all your faucets and flush the toilets to drain the pipes and relieve any remaining pressure. Finally, call a plumber to make an emergency repair.

A cistern works by collecting rainwater from your gutters and downspouts and storing it in a holding tank. The holding tank can be installed above or below ground, and the size will depend on your household needs. The stored water can then be used for household tasks, watering your garden, and even for drinking water.

In most cases, it’s better to repair a toilet than to replace it. Fixing issues like low water levels, running water, and flushing problems is less expensive than buying a new unit. Start thinking about replacement if the toilet is cracked, using excessive amounts of water, or is over 15 years old. Newer models are more water-efficient and clog less often than older models.

The lifespan of bathroom pipes is between 20 and 100 years. This is a wide range, so to narrow it down, it helps to know which type of material your pipes are made from. Copper and cast iron have the longest lifespan—between 50 and 100 years—while other materials, such as galvanized steel and brass, last for 50 years or less.
